Halores assumed that Maeve was dead and buried in the middle of nowhere, which she was, where no one would ever find her. That, and Halores was the only one aware of the location of Maeve's body. The last thing she expected was for Bernard to have the key to the Sublime, spend 30 years/millennia here, and come out of it with premonitions of the future, along with the exact location of Maeve as well.

Or was it what she exactly expected because she had a clone of herself doing the same thing as Bernard but pulled it out sooner, this being one step ahead of Bernard and the rebels.

It wasn't clear to me that Hale sent the rebel/host copy for the purpose of disposing of Maeve. He was there to eliminate the rebels. He just realized the threat when he saw her there and changed his plan a bit.

I will say that the whole infiltrating the rescue team with a host raises a lot of questions.

Why send host William at all? Did Hale want him to get "infected"? Did she want him to get shot?

If she knew the rescue team was coming why not just trick them into rescuing a host that could kill them. Clearly the rebels don't know when someone is a host or not without shooting them first. It seems the rebels hack into the "game " to see when someone is off their loop, but it's Hales game and she could fake that.

I guess they could explain some of this in the next episode, but I kind of assume the plot just moves on.

I will say that they've done a good job showing that Hale is sort of loosing her mind. So maybe that explains that poor planning, or maybe a bored god just likes to throw the dice and see what happens.

I've lost track of the original Dolores. Halores is one of the copies. Is the original Dolores the one Teddy is talking to now?

The original Dolores is dead.

I'm not completely convinced this is absolutely the case, despite what the people running this show say.

But yes, the whole rebel plot doesn't make a lot of sense yet. I mean Halores could bomb them from space or something if she wanted to. Hopefully they tighten that up next episode.

I need to rewatch seasons 1-3

Or read this article if you need a refresher on all the Dolores copies out there.

I must have missed that part
The very last scene in Season 4, episode 6.

That is Human Caleb?

The way the Hosts like Halores interact with infected Humans and other "Hosts" are distinct. When Halores controls the humans with sound, they tend to be "frozen" in mid action motion as they wait for the next command. In other cases Hosts and Host Caleb are always seated in a chair or standing up straight when they are brought back. To me, there seems to be a difference in they way Humans and Hosts react when they stop their motor functions. In the beginning of the episode, Host Caleb is told to "wake up" and he is seated in the chair (as we have seen so many times with other hosts). In this last scene Caleb is standing in mid-stride and told to "wake up"

So my theory is that this is Human Caleb. I'm probably wrong…

I mean you're definitely wrong, unless human cloning is the next turn the show makes.

Yes. Perhaps. They put him in the same device as Human William?

Ya no way this is the case. The season has never shown her 'controlling' any hosts. It's their free world so that doesn't make sense. And plus, he is a slave host so she can probably control him any which way

Is that why Christina didn't walk into Bernard and Maeve at the fork?

No, the best way I can think to explain it is she's like an Alexa. She can interact and control devices (and everyone is a device, so to speak) but she doesn't exist in the real world. Only things programmed to see her can see her.

Like Teddy said, the world is real, she isn't. (Though neither is he, presumably.)

That said, I'm not sure that makes any sense based on what we've seen.

I also thought that was kind of a big leap from where we left last episode. Why are they even trying to open it?

The post-show stuff makes it clear they're REALLY proud of shooting at Hoover dam when there really isn't much unique about Hoover dam that couldn't have been done another way.

Three episodes in and it's not bad. Not sure they can land it, but multiple timelines, mind control, robot apocalypse, and for some reason Delores trapped in a computer simulation.

Sure.

I'm giving myself 50% credit on this one.

Exactly. She was attacked by a human. Teddy defended her from the attacker. She had a roommate.

I was very confused by that last "twist".

Augmented reality.

It makes a lot more sense for how she was able to write 50 million story loops.

As to why some people could interact with her, are we sure those people were in the real word?

Bernard is the only one who can, and he knows he'll be dead before the people who need to see it open get there.

But he left a gun for someone.
bobinator

I'm just not sure they laid the groundwork for that twist. A good twist makes things click into place, this one just raises a lot of questions. If she isn't real, was the guy she was on a date with just talking to himself in a restaurant?

And if not, and it's an augmented reality thing… why..?
