He feels like the rare guy who if he saw Vader coming down the hallway he'd go right at him.

I'd like to see a plot device where K2 or a siimilar droid is sent to kill Palpatine.
Agreed. Probably look something like how this little scene ended….

There is an assassination attempt on Palpatine, he sees it coming, but is hesitant to use the force to deflect the blaster bolt as to not "reveal" himself as a Sith. Instead he ducks behind Partagaz and that's how Partagaz dies...

I wonder why Vader didn't just force-stop the blaster shots mid air. Amateur.

Tony Gilroy talks bout the scrapped K2 origin story

Dan Gilroy wrote an amazing, entirely self-contained episode that was episode 209. It was an amazing episode that was like a horror movie. It was the K2 story.

"They had to bring this huge ugly tanker ship to Yavin, and there was a KX unit that was trapped inside there hunting. It was sort of like a monster movie with K2 on it. It was really cool."

"We could not afford to do it. It was made clear that it was out of the range, so we had to abandon that and consolidate things.

Dang that would have been a cool episode, I wish they had just alluded to it occurring offscreen so they could have saved that lore for a future opportunity.

It reminds me of an episode of the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica where a couple of the Cylon Centurions got on BSG and nobody knew it at first; it took the whole crew and whole episode to wipe them out. The whole episode is like a horror movie.

its been better in Andor but I thought he was awful in Rogue One, just bizarre choices. Hes a great actor though, just didnt think it was good in Rogue One.

Man, it's going to hurt that much worse seeing the end of Rogue One, not just knowing that Andor will never see "sunrise" Luthen spoke about, but that Bix is out there waiting for him.

But it is really poetic how this is essentially a sunrise, visually. I'm sure very much intentionally written into Luthen's speech.

We're going to look at Rogue One differently because Andor catches K2 having an affair with Bix and we realize he is spending all of Rogue One trying to get K2 killed.

We pretty much can. There's no way they have her leave Andor only to kill her off in the next arc.

she's also not really out there waiting for him, IMO.
The whole point is she is sacrificing both of their happiness for the rebellion. There is no living through it to the end for Andor.

Probably true. But that seems to waste a great character who we never see again*

* unless Disney brings her back in some unrelated series or movie.

I think we see her again, and it won't end well for her.

I agree that she probably wasn't expecting an actual happy ending for them. But it still sucks.

You think they bring her back just to kill her?

If they ever did bring her back, it would probably be in flashbacks to the birth of their child, setting up the Andor sequel set in the Resistance era.

(Not saying this will or that I even want this to happen.)

this. My hope is she heroically sacrifices herself for the Rebellion

I'd like to see it done this way. My gut feeling turned out to be wrong (thus far). I had thought that the line from Rogue One (where Andor says he has done things for the Rebellion that were awful, or something to that effect), would be tied to him having to kill Bix.

It won't happen, but I'd love to never see anything ever again related to the Resistance. The more I think about the sequel trilogy, the more irritated I am seeing how Disney took such a great series of existing films with lots of related stories via books, comics, and video games, and basically doing a steaming **** on it.

Seen theories that Poe is their child. I hope they don't force that into this. I'd prefer Andor to have no attachment to 7-9.

I just don't think she completely walks away from the Rebellion. She was all in during the 2nd set of episodes and asking for more work. I'm thinking she went to Luthen to work as an agent for him away from Cassian. This allows her to be in play this week.

I refuse to believe that the offspring of Cassian and Bix could ever utter such a line as "Somehow, Palpatine returned"

A child would be about 17 years younger than Luke and Leia. Poe is too young in TFA, I think

There is a massive cannon comic book about Poe's parents, and they are not Andors.

I actually had this exact thought during episode 7 and then remembered this comic.

Which is good because I do think the connection would feel really forced.

One of the breakdown videos I've watched gives me a ton of faith that Gilroy is going to stay true to this story. Obviously, it has to tie into Rogue One, but he isn't giving much Star Wars fan service. He really doesn't accept Rebels as anything he wants to mimic but he knows that he has to, to some extent.

They need to give Gilroy more projects. I like his gritty, adult style format.

I'm not crazy about the arc system for this season. I want to relish in last week's episode and move along to the next episode, not arc. But, I do understand why it is like this. I just don't want it to be over tonight.

2 lines from Rogue One to think about tonight. We haven't really seen Cassian do any "terrible things" so far this season that I can remember.

"What do you know? We don't all have the luxury of deciding when and where we want to care about something. Suddenly the Rebellion is real for you. Some of us live it. I've been in this fight since I was *six* years old. You're not the only one who lost everything. Some of us just decided to do something about it."

"Some of us - well, most of us - we've all done terrible things on behalf of the Rebellion. Spies, saboteurs, assassins. Everything I did, I did for the Rebellion. And every time I walked away from something I wanted to forget, I told myself it was for a cause that I believed in. A cause that was worth it. Without that, we're lost. Everything we've done would have been for nothing. I can't face myself if I gave up now. None of us could."
