Something that hit me this morning...The Rebel council's infighting is mirroring the rebel infighting when Cass is captured in the early episodes of this season. It is causing inaction and uncertainty and could very well lead to the destruction of the whole group.

ETA: When did the Empire get a copy of the manifesto from season 1?
God loves you so much He'll meet you where you are. He also loves you too much to allow to stay where you are.

I imagine Cassian passed the manifesto on to the Rebellion to be used as propaganda for the cause. Its what Nemik would have wanted

The first three episodes set up Ghorman, and also Cassians falling out with Luthen, Bixs "happy" ending and some other stuff. I guess you could skip them if you really wanted but I think some of the emotional beats in the later episodes would be flatter and you wouldn't know why
Bix's happy ending was returning to the scene of her attempted rape? To a planet under Imperial watch, constantly under patrol, and probably even worse after Cassian flew a stolen TIE fighter to that planet. IMO showing her holding a baby at a peaceful farming community has more impact without the first three episodes knowing that farming community is under the Imperial thumb.

Another interpretation is that people overcome the evil of the Empire, and they can't truly destroy everything.

(Except Alderaan I suppose.)

I liked seeing the evolution of the rebellion over this season. It starts with a lot of different rebel cells that are infighting among themselves to what ultimately is a formidable force to take in the empire's largest asset.

All of this is still lost with those on the outside looking in though. Even on that last conversation with Saw he underestimates them and the spies they have infiltrated everywhere.

I was thinking about Andor while driving today. In the first episode of this season, Partagata warns Dedra about Axis to "make the arrest, then make them famous."

She doesn't listen, having to go have her "look at me, I got you" interplay with him instead of just sending the strike force in to take him down, and it costs her EVERYTHING.

I'd argue she had already lost everything regardless of her decision there. Even if she brings Luthen in alive and he's exposed as Axis, Heert was in charge of the Axis investigation and would have taken it away from her and claimed the credit. Krennic still would have discovered that she had secretly been digging into files she wasn't supposed to have access to which included the Death Star information.

Her obsession with Axis and Lonni hacking her access key is what landed her in Narkina 5, her grandstanding to Luthen only really made her look foolish. Certainly it cost the Empire though, as they lost the opportunity to gain insight into rebel operations including the location of the Yavin IV base.

If she brings in Axis and they use Dr. Ghorst's technique that spills everything he knows Dedra is in charge of ISB or maybe even a Moff a year later.

All of his contacts
Where Yavin is and who's there
Where Saw is
Every spy he has on Coruscant

I think the whole point of that planet is that it was on the outer rim and NOT under constant patrol.
That was a major plot point of that arc

Did we all know Melshi was in Rogue One?
I guess he didn't have the buzz cut in prison, so it made him look different.
But I didn't remember his character at all from when I first watched Rogue One
Yeah most people recognized him in the S1 thread
I'll have to go back, I dont remember anyone writing that

edit: no one talked about this at all on the season 1 thread

Heert was in charge of Axis and Dr. Ghorst's lab. Dedra's name wouldn't have even shown up on the report. Lonni had already burned Dedra, she was going down no matter what because she knew too much.

Yeah I went back too. Only Porkchop mentioned it. Guess I made that up. I recognized him during the prison sequence and knew who it was, but never posted it I guess

This is corny af, I know, but . . .

I had my first kid last month. I'm not ashamed to admit that I legit choked up at this ending. Just so many emotions. It's true that a lot of things hit different when you have children.

Anyways . . .

THIS SHOW WAS AWESOME. Loved it.

All Andor did was rip off Black Panther 2.

Two reasons.

So she could be walking through wheat fields a little gladiator like.

And they could also show the robot was happy playing that game with the other one.

Man just finished season two yesterday and went right into Rogue One. What a great season that correspondingly made a great movie (Rogue One) even better. Everything in Rogue 1 just had so much more weight behind it.

We watched Rogue One last night to top this thing off. Awesome. Caught an Easter egg that was meaningless on my original watch with the request for General Syndulla over the speaker at Yavin.

Just told someone at my office that I believe Andor, both seasons, is quite likely the best TV series I have ever watched. Regardless if that's true or not for anyone else, I just felt like they nailed it from start to end. We all know what is going to happen, and yet they still managed to invest us in the characters to the point that we want to yell at them not to do X because that will lead to the Y we know is coming.

Damn you Disney for not doing the sequels right. Andor shows definitively that you are capable of it, but you just can't quit stepping on your own dicks in your quest to agendize Star Wars rather than simply producing great Star Wars movies/shows.
They definitely got this one right. Hit just about every storyline perfectly.

Also, we got small glimpses in this last arc, but I think they set up an opportunity for another series following Luthen and Kleya from the time he saved her from the Imperial attack through the start of Andor Season One. How Luthen and Kleya went from running from the Empire to become traders and then art dealers. How the relationship between Luthen and Mon Mothma came to be. I could see lots of potential for another series or two.

I also think there could be a series on Jen Erso and Saw Gurerra and how that relationship evolved after Saw saved her and took her in, and how Saw became a player in the Rebellion and eventually came to work with Luthen.

Maybe cover both storylines in the same series leading up to Andor Season One. I think there are tons of opportunities for more content if Disney wanted to pursue it.

Considering everything that has been introduced, you could backfill story lines ad infinitum which is basically what they've continued to do.

As awesome as this series is, I'm still ready to go further back to the Old Republic or further than that. The massive destroyed Jedi statue on Jedha just makes me want to know about that time period.

And, specifically, I couldn't handle Saw's character for an entire series. He's just too annoying. And they sort of covered how came into the Rebellion in the Rebels show, if I recall correctly.

I missed that. I will say we thought she actually looked older in Rogue One than she did in Andor which is odd since she was 10 years younger in R1 IRL.

Everyone else looked remarkably unaged although Andor looked a little older. We also noticed that you could tell he has absolutely improved as an actor in Andor vs R1. His voice in R1 was different; almost more high pitched and without inflection. In Andor, his range was much greater. He definitely matured as an actor in the interim.

And Bail looked like Jimmy Smits in R1 and then looked like Benjamin Bratt in Andor. Weird.

Well it's not really spelled out. I was just thinking that the fact that she has to haul ass out of the senate straight to a ship shows that she didn't have time to go home and pick up her designer threads.

Oh, yes, I thought there was something more here. Always had it in my mind what 1836 posted from her character. She went from Senate high life to rebel on the run cave life so her simpler garb always made sense to me.

Upon further thought, I think she looked older in R1 simply because she's not wearing makeup like she was in Andor. Another obviously outcome of rebel life.

This. I don't think they have a store for beauty products or shampoo in the Jedi temple on Yavin.

No way Dedra ends up in prison. She knows too much. She should end up with a blaster bolt in the head.

I loved the last shot of Dedra, and I just interpreted it as the Empire putting her on ice since there was an active investigation going on and she might be of future use given her historical/investigative knowledge.

After listening to Brandon Roberts' Season 2 soundtrack twice in a row the last two days, I'm dubbing it the best Star Wars soundtrack since The Phantom Menace.

I didn't realize they had switched composers from last season to this season, but it is a noticeable upgrade. In fact, my biggest complaint from Rogue One itself was the soundtrack by Michael Giachhoni - I know that is spelled wrong.

The Ghorman stuff in particular is just out of this world.

I guess it was also a fitting end to her considering she claimed to have been risen in an Imperial group home as an orphan.
