Guess we found Jerry. Pickens has shown us who he is the last couple of weeks. The effort has fallen off and he is now a liability. You can't commit to that.

I've said it on this thread that Eberflus needs to go. Thats the biggest issue we have. But you will run into extreme offensive inconsistency if you rely on Pickens beyond this year.

Again, the offense has not been a problem. They did have some hicups this last game or two but they score 29 points this week if we don't miss two FGs we normally make.

This team has not had anything resembling 'extreme inconsistency'. They are the number one offense in the league.

Flores is probably getting a HC gig, and his defenses get absolutely shredded by teams with good QB/OL combos that can navigate his aggressive blitz packages.

He's the kind of guy to get you to the conference title game with a top 5 defense then give up 40. His scheme is essentially designed to take advantage of the fact that QB and OL play is really down across the league. You can win a lot of games but not a title because it has a very firm ceiling. It's not all that different from Dan Quinn's philosophy.

The reality that most fans don't want to hear is that in 2025 championship defenses are very talented units that run a lot of zone on the back end, get pressure with 4 and stop teams in the redzone. Hyper aggressive defenses are fun in the regular season but get eaten alive in the playoffs by the best QBs. The Cowboys issue isn't that Eberlus strategy is bad, it's that our personnel on the back end is so bad right now and our pass rush limited enough that nothing works.

Never feel truly positive about Cowboys until that family goes away. Would maybe settle for them going back to only being owners and hiring a real GM after Jerry steps away

My guess: now that we're out of the hunt, Jerry goes off and stops interfering with the coaching staff. So now we'll look half decent.

My larger theory: the more it matters the more Jerry gets involved and the worse we get. So any year when we're supposed to compete, any big games, any playoffs games and Jerry starts micromanaging and we underperform. When there are no stakes or expectations Jerry checks out and we play like an actual football team. So Jerry is literally and directly sabotaging us for decades
