Beautiful sun in Flower Mound
Good to see the sun. Steep north facing driveway to the alley at my house. Have done a couple of layers of ice melt along the way, but just put down a good one for this sun to work on. Have a feeling that thing will be mostly clear by EOD
I made the 1.5 mile drive for my wife's appointment this morning. Worst part was our alley and getting out of the neighborhood. The main roads weren't great, but we handled them just fine with 2WD.
I say the Texas summers are killing me, but the clown show process of having to take my dogs out in the morning make me absolutely hate the cold.
Had to run up to my wife's office with her to help her take care of a few things. Just major surface streets. Had no issues in a 4wd suv. Taking it slow and steady. Worst parts are other drivers. Was starting to get kind of slushy in some spots. Suspect it will get a little worse before it gets better as more people venture out.
SW Fort Worth is fine if you have 4wd and good tires. I was out for a bit this morning and didn't have issues, but I saw plenty of folks driving that had no business on the roads - spinning at green lights, sliding through red lights, barely managing to take a turn without hitting the curb.

Not looking forward to tomorrow morning. Our office is gonna be open. Biggest issue is gonna be getting out of our neighborhood. Probably gonna have to leave the house around 545 just in case

The issue isn't the highways, but the side roads and suburban streets. I live in Richardson and haven't noticed any change at all. Still packed ice throughout my neighborhood.
Not to mention anything that slightly melts is just going to reform into a sheet of ice over night.

Not ideal, so I carved a washboard into the remaining surface, so hopefully whatever freezes at least has some texture. Probably useless, but I was going stir crazy this afternoon, and it got me outside for 20 minutes.

I just made the drive from Live Field to Murphy. Tollway/ highway - good shape, major streets - decent, and neighborhood roads - a bit treacherous.
We live in Ponder. Got a little stir crazy and went to the local gas station and Dollar General. The roads here are TERRIBLE. Think I went about 15mph because the roads in our small town are still solid sheets.

The streets in our neighborhood don't look any different than yesterday (north dallas) I can't imagine one day will make much difference. I assume most will cancel Wednesday as well.
Neighborhood streets are still pretty bad in the firewheel mall area (north garland/sachse). I had to pull two people out to the main road who couldn't get up the hills because of all the ice
Heavy traffic streets seem okay although they will probably refreeze overnight. Side streets look exactly the same

Just drive down belt line, only the middle lane was clear, and still iced at certain spots. No chance school is happening Wednesday.
Wife has a scheduled induction tomorrow at 8am. Delivering at Baylor downtown. Any recommendations on best roads to take at 7am tomorrow from Lake Highlands (Audelia and Walnut Hill) to Baylor downtown? Worried about ice on the roads having formed overnight. Drove around to Kroger today and car (FWD) was sliding all over the place.
Just watched a truck fail to climb my little side street. Doesn't give me a lot of hope for tomorrow. Gonna be pissed off if I have to waste a vacation day because of this bull****

Yeah, if anything it might be SAFER for those of us who know how to drive.
Haven't had any problems in my truck in LH. The roads are slick outside of the track marks.
I'd leave well before 7! If you can get to 75 go that way. 75 was very clear. No problems on overpasses either. I drove from Love Field to McKinney and back to LH with no problems.

just got back from the neighborhood cantina and it was slick as hell as all this stuff has refrozen as solid ice
