Highways are fine. Some city streets still a little icy. Some parking lots are still a hockey rink

There's currently a war here in Southlake between the granola moms pissed they had to drive on ice in a parking lot and the moms who want their kids out of the house.

This complaint is learned helplessness. The schools could have cleared the parking lots (or at least the carpool lanes) yesterday with a handful of dad and teenagers, but no one thinks like that anymore.

Temps and clear skies are going to let everything melt today. So that is good. But need more evaporation to happen because anything sitting on the roads overnight is going to freeze again.

Cost of daycare is insane and one of my biggest concerns when it comes to having a kid in the future.

I'm pissed because I have a 4yr old and 18month old and pay as much as my mortgage on daycare that has been closed all week. My wife and I are full time and these closures are causing a ton of stress on us professionally and financially. Seeing McDonalds, Target, Starbucks, and virtually every other place of business open while schools remain closed is frustrating (to say the least).

Correct. They get an auto draft on the first of every month for the same amount regardless of how many days they actually provide childcare.
