No. Nice try. He mainly did residential areas. Someone asked about ice tolerances on power lines, so I gave an answer

Our house in Fort Worth is on the market and we've since moved to magnolia. Still deciding whether to drive up to Fort Worth tonight to winterize the house/outdoor kitchen/pool and then head back to magnolia tomorrow or bring the family for the weekend tomorrow evening to stay in Fort Worth throughout the duration (to potentially see snow, but also be there to make sure the house is good).

Evening model runs coming in. Gonna suck.
Showing rain transitioning to ice with .25-..5 of ice accumulation. Then 4-9 inches of sleet. Then 3-5 inches of snow on the back end on Sunday.
Think 2013 cobblestone iced roads storm, but more accumulation of ice.
I drove from my apartment in Dallas to DFW Airport to pick up my Dad then to my parents house in Benbrook in that on a Saturday night at 11 pm after day drinking all day for God knows what
I was out of town for work and managed to get onto a flight home that night.
Driving the cobblestone highway of DFW > Frisco was one of the suckiest drives of all time.

Let me ask a question here for the gang....
What do we think this will do to Air Travel? Have some friends that are leaving to go to a Conference, thinking they will be able to get out on Sunday. But I keep telling them to leave earlier instead of waiting cause you may not be leaving at all until Tuesday (and then what is the point of going?)

A coworker just reported that the frisco Costco is out of milk, bread, water, and toilet paper.
Why in the world are people hoarding toilet paper? Do they think they are going to make an igloo with it?

Went to test my freeze misers and found a bib with bad seals. Glad I found it today, but not looking forward to the bill tomorrow

I had one acting weird so I ordered another that came in yesterday. I like having buckets under mine b/c it limits the pooling / icing but also because i can see if there is more water dripping than expected...the other day came out to about 1 gallon when it had not been freezing or really even close. they work great but just have to make sure they are functioning....

Bucket is great but when it gets 20 degrees and lower that bucket fills up quick! I usually dump it around 10PM and by 6AM it will be full...only once have i seen it overflow (use HD buckets) and it is still less of an issue than an ice rink under my bib....

The latest GFS runs basically train us with winter weather and cold temperatures for the next two weeks. Hard one to swallow right now, but the models continue trend colder.
The latest run doesn't have us getting above 35 degrees until February 5. Note I'm not saying this is going to happen, but models after this weekend are trending colder with temps and just sharing some modeling of what might be to come

I don't support it doing it, but I always wonder why people have... wondered about this. Toilet paper to most people is a "better safe than sorry" item that they know without a doubt will get used eventually -- so the calculus is "it's doubtful we need this but if we don't then we'll just use it next month".

Did these models accurately predict icemageddon 2021?

My favorite part of that thread was the guy who bragged about conserving energy by "only" running two TVs and a computer as if it was some noble sacrifice.

When applying salt to your driveway…what's the preferred strategy.? Before, during, or after a measurable amount of ice?
