Yea the one where Xhaka got clobbered with complete intent to play the player is only a yellow because it was not in the box. Don't say well it denied a goal scoring opportunity one pass and it is a goal scoring opportunity.

Luiz was an idiot for crossing over closely behind the Wolves player in the box. Leno could have made the save but if not the match is level at one and 11 v11. The second half would have favored Arsenal getting three points.
I get that folks don't like Luiz and expect the screw ups (fair) but this was just really ****ty luck. The Wolves player did get behind Luiz before the pass which led to Luiz trailing him during the whole sequence (yes, that's bad) but the "trip" and the red card were just really bad luck. Crossing over so closely was the idiotic move by Luiz. I support the player but not the decision. He was in a no win trailing position so at a minimum be ready for a possible clearance from a Leno save. Why try to cross sides? I approve of the crossover move in the field of play outside the box to arrest a still developing possible goal scoring opportunity(yellow card).
I thought Luiz was largely in a dead straight sprint and attempting to get over to the ball, but the pass led the Wolves player to drift a little to the right...I didn't see Luiz really try to move cross the player, but maybe we just saw it differently.
One more ****ty thing about it...Luiz actually pulled up a bit and began to slow down right before the Wolves players foot contacted Luiz's knee.

Agree with wangus. It was a mistake that looked far worse because he swung his arm. The way i saw it on the replays, i thought he was swinging his arm to try and keep it from hitting the ball once he realized what was gonna happen. Just was way to late in that effort.
People are bagging on Luiz because it is one in a long list of F'ups that end up costing the team big. I agree that he shouldn't have been sent off but he also shouldn't have put himself in that situation. He pushed too far up the field trying to stop the build up and then got himself stuck flat footed. As a 32 yo defender he should know himself and his abilities well enough to not take risks that create that situation.

Holy Cr** just say the "Red Card". That was really absurd. That Ref and VAR should never work a U6 game. That is beyond dumb.
FA denied the appeal for Luiz. I just don't understand how anyone can look at that and call it a red card. That is a total farce. FA would have had to admit that both the ref and VAR got it wrong so we were never going to win that
The FA and their use of VAR is just astoundingly bad (not just for Arsenal)

That being said, when is a handball ever an indirect free kick?
That's a mistype on me. This one isn't an indirect. Correct. If that had been a pass from a teammate, it still would've been a direct free kick since he was outside the penalty area.
