As a neutral I have to say I hate what just happened. Stop drawing damn lines. Watch it in regular speed. If you can't tell in 30 seconds or less leave the call on the field alone. These guys all have beeper flags. The AR can signal if they think it's off and play continues anyway. No beep or beep you have a signal.

I could be wrong, but when they were VARing the possible offside before the pen, it looked like the player's hand was protruding some inches further out but they weren't measuring from there. Seemed offside based on that.

The hand doesn't count in evaluation of offsides - but any part of the body that you can score with does. Just another one of the inane rules that have made the whole VAR offsides situation a joke.

I'll stand by my opinion that Arteta really shouldn't be here. There is absolutely zero reason to have this type of match at home against a club like Fulham, and this has been repeated multiple times this season.
Let the record show the retraction has been accepted and ratified.
Did you want him to run out there and kick one in himself? He's coaching a squad of players who make wasteful poor passes and fail to finish when they have to.
Of course I don't want him to run out there and kick the ball. His job is to ensure his squad is prepared to kick the ball, and this season is proving that this club is not prepared on the pitch. It's shaping up to be the worst Arsenal season in DECADES.

It won't solve all the issues but I hope the Wenger rule is adopted.
I see what you're saying, I just think he needs more time to build a better squad. We need a big summer sell off of a number of subpar players. I honestly don't think the most revered managers would have THIS squad much higher on the table.

This is where I'm at. Arteta might be part of the problem but we are deficient in our on field talent and we're razor thin at what we do have.
I am sure there is plenty of nuance that I am overlooking, but this feels strikingly similar to the Premier League breaking away from the Football League in 1992. Different scope since it affects more domestic leagues and all of that, but the premise seems the same. Big clubs wanting to create and control revenue and access to that revenue.
The exclusion of these 15 - 20 clubs from other competitions and their players from FIFA competition is a huge difference in the two situations for sure.
In reading the history of the PL (The Club is a great book btw), everyone thought English football would fall apart based on the big clubs breaking away. This feels very similar.
I think that it's not a good move, but I also think it's the ultimate power play. The timing relative to UEFA potentially announcing changes to the UCL in the next couple of days makes it feel even more like a power play.
