The pitch is a joke as well. It's part of the "charm" of the FA Cup but still.

I refuse to accept that in a low scoring sport, when your entire approach is to hardly ever attack and win a game on the fine margins, that it is ok to repeatedly create goals for your opponents because of boneheaded decisions

We've lost 3 games out in the last calendar year? I don't love it either but the overall approach we have delivers results, even with the odd goal given up when playing out of the back

We've lost more than 3 games in the last 365 days, and we've drawn a lot of games that have also cost a lot. But that's not the point.

One of the biggest reasons we haven't won anything the last 5 seasons is because the team is always burned out in the spring. Now there are a few causes for that, but one of them is that we don't win enough games easily and are grinding for 90 minutes in games that should be over in less than an hour. Some of that is our bad offense, and some of that is giving up goals that shouldn't be given up. And a lot of that is down to, IMO, some really dumb tactics.

Are we doing well? Yes. That doesn't mean there aren't weaknesses that could be corrected.

Also we've lost 3 games this season, not calendar year, and drawn 7. City have lost 7 and drawn 6

I hope we don't see the wear down this season as we did the last couple with much more rotation but I guess time will tell there

There was a graphic yesterday that showed Arsenal's record across all competitions for each year. Including today, we've now won more matches in 25/26 compared to the previous seasons under Arteta and we still have a possible 19 matches to go.

It isn't pretty, but it's showing to be very effective. I'd also say our finishing this season has been quite poor and we've left a lot of goals on the table. None of the attacking players have been very clinical.

Our game plan isn't perfect but none are. But I don't know what people want more. We are a very dominate team in the EPL and one of the best teams in the world right now. I'd take us against anyone right now. I just find a hard time complaining about one of our flaws when there are plenty of things we do well. If you require us to win the quadruple to be a good team, you'll never be happy.

The last few seasons we've not necessarily run out of gas in the EPL. We had very key injuries with no depth to back them up and we were playing against teams firing on all cylinders during that time. We probably ran out of gas in the UCL in 23/24 but I'd argue depth was still an issue.

Last night I was scouting a potential playoff opponent with my head coach and we got to talking about the other team and their strengths against our weaknesses. It's a normal approach to scouting. We know just about every weakness our players have because we've been with them for years in some cases. My point is that we know the weaknesses or our squad because we've watch them week in and week out, for years in some cases and it can causes to become too critical and miss how good they are.

Big 2 weeks coming up with a 2 legged pairing with Bayer Leverkusen, Everton this weekend and Man City in the League Cup final the weekend after.

We've also reentered into injury crisis mode imo.

Merino (out for seasonish)
White (no idea, but out
Saliba (injured ankle, hopefully back soon)
Odegaard (hopefully back for Cup final)
Trossard (Went off injured this weekend)
Calafiori (Went of holding hamstring/groin)

Leaves very little rotation for the fullbacks. MLS probably needs to come in for a match at some point and might need to play Mosquera out at RB to give Timber a break.

LW has a struggling Martinelli. Wouldn't mind seeing Madueke play left and Saka on the right. Dowman might play an important role in the run in

Watts keeps saying Arsenal are targeting the cup final to get him back. Hope thats true.

I also hope Arteta is on the phone with all the international managers about our guys. Tuchel doesn't need Saka or Rice, Spain don't need Zubimendi, France don't need Saliba, Brazil doesn't need big Gabi. Those guys are shoe-ins for the World Cup and they most beneficial thing for both Arsenal and the NTs is that they get some sort of rest in.

Those goals were awful. Must be copying Arteta's over-reliance on defensive players with the ball at their feet.
