Two "positive" thoughts about this game:
1. The performance was better. Chances were created. They could have been created earlier and more often, but they were created.
2. If come the end of the season, we do in fact lose, this game will not be one of the ones we point to in an honest conversation about what went wrong.
In my opinion, I think it should be, as there was everything to play for and the stakes were at their absolute highest.
The squad and the coaches knew what was on the line, and yet again, were left wanting. Though Arsenal were fortunate to not be down 0-1 earlier in the match when the ball deflected off the inside of the post, the defense was not bad, considering it was city at the Etihad. The Arsenal offense could only muster three shots on goal for the contest, and that is why Arsenal lost - quite Impotent on offense, and a few good chances unconverted.
This recent run of form from the offense is looking to reward Arsenal with no silverware this season. Quite a shift from less than 4 weeks ago, and will be the reason if Arsenal go trophy-less.
