They'd have more time if they didn't dick around earlier for 3-4 seconds not fouling.

Why did Baylor even defend there?
I'm just setting myself up for going from last place out of 50 through round 1 to rocketing into 1st with my elite late round picks. Yup that's it!
They need to fix that whole sequence though. There is not enough time to possess the ball, call timeout, and the ref react to you calling timeout in .3 seconds. The game should have been over then.
Though I do think they got hosed out of about a second because that airball might have hit the end line.

Because you throw the ball about 20 feet in the air, you let it bounce, and when it lands, it's soft like a jump ball. You could conceivably hit it like a volleyball set from half court. Token resistance isn't a bad play.The Collective said:94chem said:

I've only missed on VCU and the wishful thinking pick of UCSD beating meatchickin.
Vandy vs St Mary's is another interesting style matchup.
Seems like all the people generally thought there would be upsets. ANY upsets. Because all our memories of the tourney are the upsets. And media surrounding it asks: "what upsets will there be?" They don't ask: "will there even be upsets?"
Think I said this the other day or maybe yesterday but to me this bracket always screamed Sat/Sun chaos. I think the middle tier teams are really strong this year which means they're less likely to get upset but more likely to beat the 1s and 2s.
I think you might be right. But a lower seeded Arkansas or North Carolina making a deep run isn't the same as Florida Gulf Coast or St. Peters making a run. I would argue its not even the same as UMBC or Abilene Christian winning a single first round game.bobinator said:

SMC did a good job pulling this back
No. 1 Duke dominated No. 16 Mount St. Mary's from start to finish for a 93-49 trouncing. Duke's 44-point win is their 3rd largest margin of victory in an NCAA tournament game.
