Well one of the teams that just lost is spending like 6 mil on one player next year.

This tournament has been boring and it's all the big schools.
That and transfer portal. Parity is gone. Think it was pretty evident too with how soft the bubble was

There was a pretty wide chasm between quality tourney teams and the rest. Texas getting in at 6-12 with a bad noncon resume says it all

I think we need more than one year of data before we declare the tournament ruined. There have been boring tournaments before.

FAU would've been a natty contender this year with alijah Martin (Florida), Goldin, and the Arky PG Johnell Davis. But they got bought out

College sports in general are cooked with regards to Cinderella stories

The portal reigns supreme now. We better be killing it in the portal because it's how you win

That doesn't mean I like the system

Gonna be a little surprised if Arizona hangs in this game

Maybe? We should have known this was coming from the non-con results. Even in the non-con there wasn't that many upsets.

The tournament fluctuates from year to year with upsets, but I don't think there's a defined reason as to why.

So. Is Cooper Flagg awesome? Cause he looks awesome. Why can't we have nice things?

That play by Love is what just drove people crazy at UNC.

If you're the Spurs, you can. Isn't is already resolved that he'll end up there?

He is a generational talent. Duke has 5 or 6 guys that show up in NBA mock drafts.

I think NIL made the tournament better. I actually know the good players. I wish they stayed on the same teams, though.

When he puts on that next 20 pounds and develops a jump shot. Might be the guy the NBA needs to replace LeBron.

I mean, he has to be coach of the year at this point. Ironically, Pope would also be in that convo. I'm happy for Cal.

Alabama buried 25 3-pointers against BYU, breaking the previous record of 21 by Loyola Marymount against then defending champion Michigan in 1990.
That was the Hank Gathers season, when Bo Kimble made you believe in miracles, hitting left-handed free throws and putting a team on his back like very few before or since.

Yes, any of these 16 teams could win it. You might say BYU couldn't, but Alabama was 25/51 from 3 tonight. Every team left has kryptonite. When Arkansas was 0-5 and won the game at Rupp, I asked if the SEC was on track for 14 teams, and people on here said no way. Well, way. The point is that I've never seen such depth in the at-large field.

I always thought there could be 14 deserving teams but I was skeptical the committee would do it

The box score from that game for anyone who has never seen it.

https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/boxscores/1990-03-18-loyola-marymount.html

Loyola Marymount scored 149 points in 40 minutes. 84 points in the second half.

Michigan had future NBA players Rumeal Robinson, Terry Mills, Loy Vaught, Tony Tolbert, and Eric Riley.

Guy named Jeff Fryer for MIchigan was 15 of 20 from the field and 11 of 15 on threes for 41 points.

Kimble scored 37.

In their first round vs. NMSU, they won 111-92 and Kimble had 45 points and 18 rebounds. That's a 6'4 guard. That was 12 days after Gathers collapsed on the court.

I'm watching the refs give the typical Duke treatment...cause, ya know, they need help.

No, the Spurs are blowing the tank. And it looked like for a while that Atlanta (the Spurs have the Hawks' pick) was going to do their dirty work for them, but they started winning as well.
