Just finished. Did not disappoint. Had planned on watching episode 8 today and saving episode 9 for tomorrow night but there was no way I could stop. Eddie playing the guitar was EPIC!

Great episodes! Still processing the last episode. I'll keep my comments for now till more people have seen the episodes. Can't wait to see how they do the final season.
They've gotta play Pink Floyd-Time at some point. It just meshes too well with the clock chimes.
My son wanted to watch as soon as they dropped (midnight here), so I took a nap in the evening, and we finished them around 3:40am.

Really enjoyed the last 2. Wife was balling at times. Don't want to say too much for now though.
Not sure if this has been discussed earlier in the thread, but based on more info from the last episodes, I feel like Will has to die in the end. They have talked non stop about the black particles being linked to the hive mind and how hurting one hurts them all. Despite the exorcism from season 2, Will is still connected to the hive mind to a certain extent. He might be acting like a horcrux for Vecna. He has to die to kill Vecna, or killing Vecna kills him.

Afraid of spoilers, so not reading this thread yet. However, I must say, that version of Separate Ways at the end of Chapter 8 was epic. When the intro was playing in the background, I thought it was just a score and was thinking, "that's totally a ripoff of Separate Ways." Then you have Steve Perry coming in with that arrangement, and I loved every second of it.
Entertainment as always.

Like an earlier poster said, I too was planning on knocking out these last couple episodes one at a time, over the weekend, but ended up watching all four hours tonight. Just so damn satisfying, to the point where it simultaneously at times felt like the perfect series finale, but then also somehow brilliantly set a massive stage for the final season to come.
That, and I may or may not have teared up a couple times toward the end.
Overall, definitely my favorite season so far, and I can't wait to see how they finally wrap this thing up (hopefully, this time, in less than three years).

I still have the feeling it could have/maybe should have ended with this finale but wow. If you have a good sound system or even a decent soundbar then the sound of this show is like no other.

Exact same here. Impossible to stop watching once you start. Teared up as well. Damn what a brilliant show for the ages!
The music at the end of ep 8 is epic
I'm going to miss Eddie, I thought he was such a great addition to the show. At first I thought they wrapped it up just a little too nicely, but then the earth cracked open. I still don't care that Will is gay but they gotta cut that Lloyd Christmas haircut of his before the last season.

Agreed 100%. Also, I think this will be the first time there isn't a time jump in the story, so that may force them to speed up their filming schedule.

I am hoping they can just have the "show me, don't tell me" aspect with Will because even my 13 year old was over him crying in every scene. I get what they are trying to do but jeez enough.
I really appreciate them putting gay plot armor on Robin so she and Steve could stay platonic, and wish the Will stuff was not so overwrought.
I can see how they may bring his character forward to button up his story next season, but they better hurry up before he has a full beard and mutton chop sideburns.

I don't think the actors are going to age that much. Should have a much quicker release with no covid though.

A lot of season 4 started filming a year and a half ago. With these kids being teenagers, a lot can change if they wait another year to start filming again.

There are a crazy amount of similarities with Star Wars. Its almost like a Jedi/Sith origin story minus the religious themes.

They probably won't wait a year. I think they've aged a lot more between 3-4 than they will between 4-5.

Was definitely getting Ripley vibes from Nancy most of Ep 8.
Really wish Will would have died. Just a pointless character at this point and he's easily the worst actor out of the bunch.

I take this back. With the production delay for covid, there will probably be a longer time between filmings between 4-5 than 3-4. I bet there's a time jump, but I don't see how you do that with that ending. It may also be moot since they're in their late teens, and you do a lot of growing in your early and mid-teens. Who knows. Looking forward to it either way.
