I get the impression El banished One pretty well before the events of Season 1. How quickly does she go from barely being able to do anything to walking through dimensions to spy on commies?
Yeah, that's what I saidBrian Earl Spilner said:
Again, several years apart. Admittedly it is a little confusing though.

1979: El banishes Vecna and [possibly] creates the upside down?
Unknown year in between: El touches the Demogorgon and opens up the gate for the first time. This happened prior to Season 1
1983: Demogorgon breaches the gate and attacks the lab. El escapes. This is Season 1
I think that's all we know for now?
Did not mean to hit the sad face.
The Diary's last entry was specifically Nov 6, 1983 - I just finished the show last night and that date stuck out to me.redline248 said:
Yeah but her diary was all about dating Steve
he didnt say he killed her, that was just his way of reminding nancy about her unintentionally getting barb killed by making her wait outside with the demogorgan, while she was busy getting it on with steve.nosoupforyou said:
How about the comment from Vecna to Nancy in the swimming pool that he killed Barb -"when I kill someone I never forget" - that's a big clue I think
I thought the first 2 episodes really dragged, especially Jonathan crying about Nancy to Generic Stoner Character.Urban Ag said:
I know this season is not technically over but it was my favorite so far. Outstanding.
I think the production did a very good job in downplaying certain characters who's shelf lifes have essentially expired and playing up those characters who have evolved to the ones the fans really want to see lead this thing through to a great ending. Very on point with the audience.

I find him very much a typecast. I like Eddie a whole lot better.Brian Earl Spilner said:You mean the best new character of the show?Quote:

The entire show is built around 80's typecasts/stereotypes. It's kind of a staple of the show.helloimustbegoing said:I find him very much a typecast. I like Eddie a whole lot better.Brian Earl Spilner said:You mean the best new character of the show?Quote:

Agreed across the board. Jonathan outlived his utility and let's be real, him with Nancy just doesn't fly anymore. Will and Mike were endearing - kids. They don't really make the grade as teens. These things happen. Relegating all three to the California nothing burger side plot was a great idea. I will say though, the shootout in the house in CA was badass. Top notch filming.helloimustbegoing said:I thought the first 2 episodes really dragged, especially Jonathan crying about Nancy to Generic Stoner Character.Urban Ag said:

3-7 were outstanding, although my wife and I both find Mike's character to be kind of the worst. The sleuthing team that doesn't include him and Will trying desperately to not use his deepening voice is a lot more fun and democratic.
I really don't think Eleven created the upside down. If she did, they should probably kill her because that is some god-awful power to have.
If Murray taking down Yuri in the plane doesn't win some sort of award, there is no justice in Hollywood.
I would totally take a spinoff series that is Hopper, Murray, Dustin, and Steve doing pretty much whatever.
I went to high school on the west coast between 1988 and 1992. 18.5% of the male students looked like Eddie Munson. It's science.Brian Earl Spilner said:The entire show is built around 80's typecasts/stereotypes. It's kind of a staple of the show.helloimustbegoing said:I find him very much a typecast. My take is that the upside-down was always there & Eleven's super powers tore open the boundary between worlds.Quote:
