Do you think Terry Ives is in the same state and comes back?

Yeah she's in a weird vegetative state and is still trapped somewhere thanks to 01 but no way 11 doesn't somehow track her down in Season 5.

Huh, I hadn't wondered much about her. I feel like there might be more to her story, but I have to imagine she is too far gone at this point. They never really explain how she became comatose. We also have no clue who Eleven's father is. I guess it kind of depends on how long they have been planning the One/Henry/Vecna character, but I am wondering if he is actually Eleven's biological father...although I really hate the secret parent trope.

I guess the way this would work is Dr. Brenner is first introduced to One, realizes he is a psychopath, so controls him by subduing his powers, but begins searching for a child that is equally as powerful that is easier to control. Two-Ten are all disappointments, so he has One essentially breed with Terry who is also telekinetically gifted.

But then the more I think about it, the more retconning that would require, as I feel like Terry would have shown this to Eleven in season 2.

Before staff deleted the spoiler post and cleaned up the reactions/thread, *multiple* people complained about being spoiled. A huge death was ruined for them. For shows that air weekly, spoilers are expected in those threads, the moment an episode airs. But for Netflix shows like this, where all episodes drop at once, out of common courtesy, people usually use spoiler tags, for at least a few days, since others always get curious and want to see reactions without being spoiled. That's just how we've done it for years and years. I'm not saying it makes sense, or is the way it should be, but when EVERYONE is using spoiler tags, that set up an expectation that the thread was "safe." And for someone to then just completely ignore that, and post about a major death in their very first sentence, really pissed people off. Luckily, I didn't click in this thread until I'd seen the final two episodes. But others clearly had an expectation for spoilers to be spoiler tagged.

I guess that makes sense…

I guess the question becomes now… How long before we can assume everyone has seen it? It was only two episodes so hopefully pretty soon we can release 'Spoiler free' and actually talk about it

No way he's the father. He's the kind of psychopath who isn't sexually motivated at all. I'd have a hard time seeing him as El's father submit because he'd never want it.

Vecna has always been the main villain. The Duffer brothers gave Netflix a story bible during season 2 production (IIRC) that detailed everything. What the upside down is and where it came from, who the characters were going to be, etc. The whole arc has been planned for a long time.

I think the spend half the season off & on trying to "find" Max and then she somehow plays a part in ending 001.

I think getting Max's consciousness back is what closes the gates. I think that's why he brought Max and the others (I take the other bodies.to be their minds/memories/or something) to the floaty blown up Creel house. He needs them for something.

Just throwing out a random date… July 5th, post-holiday? That gives everyone the entire holiday and four full days to have seen it all.

Or just create a separate discussion and spoiler thread for this season and theories for next season. Would be better than responding to this "Season 4 trailer thread" for the next year or so.

I am a fan of 80's music and have an extensive playlist that I am pretty proud of and somehow had never heard this song anywhere until this season came out. As soon as I heard it, it had me wondering why it wasn't a bigger song that you occasionally hear in Walgreens or Kroger nowadays. Maybe now we will. Really dig the song.

I was telling my wife, that as I've gotten older, I've had more of an appreciation for the 80s music. I used to prefer the 70s.

But if you have a peloton, do a search on her name, it's typically shows up with all 80's rides that are pretty solid.

Bradley Rose did an 80s ride on 7/1/22 that is awesome and included this song.

Based on what Ive read he does play guitar and was playing it in the scene. The actual music was dubbed over but he did play along.

Welp. Was leaning towards Eddie, too.

Overall really enjoyed the finale, though I do think things felt pretty unresolved. Didn't expect a neat wrap-up, but even within this season's storylines things felt a bit rushed after the two day time jump.

I think I enjoyed episode 8 more overall. Awesome season though, I think my favorite so far.

Excited for the final season.

My one concern is that I just don't see where you take these characters next season in terms of their emotional stakes/character arcs. Because just about everyone feels like they evolved emotionally to the point of reaching the end of their respective character arcs, in pretty significant fashion. I totally get that there's plenty of *plot* left, but their character journeys feel complete. More than anything, that's why the final episode felt like a series finale and not a season finale, save for those last few minutes. I just really hope it they have somewhere to take take these characters mentally and not just physically.

Off the top of my head:

- Will still has to come out
- Nancy and Jonathan having to admit their relationship is over
- Steve maybe having to get over Nancy
- Dustin grieving Eddie
- Max escaping Vecna (Maybe has to make another emotional breakthrough to escape? Or maybe sacrifice herself.)
- The only characters who are kind of a blank slate going forward are Hopper and Joyce, but even then I feel like there's still plenty of stuff to mine with his dead daughter.

Those are all minor plot line ideas for Season 5

I am expecting a major Russia vs USA plot line - maybe even they have to join forces to defeat the mind flayer which would be a nice twist

I like that. As noted before, I really want more of the Russian characters interacting with the Hawkins team.

I was also surprised that Murray was not in the final reunion. Maybe just more of a 3rd wheel for the emotional moments they wanted to create.

I see them more as the seeds they need for their next character arcs, among other things to be introduced I'm sure. But solid starting points.

Question, when vechna was giving the villain speech to El and it cut to the kid playing with spiders while he was manipulating the ether in to the mind flayer, it was just showing those scenes as flashbacks, correct? He was talking about finding a way to influence the real world while in his new place and the way it was presented was like he was going in to that kids mind to kill his parents, but I was 100% sure before that scene that he WAS the kid.
