Do you think Terry Ives is in the same state and comes back?
Huh, I hadn't wondered much about her. I feel like there might be more to her story, but I have to imagine she is too far gone at this point. They never really explain how she became comatose. We also have no clue who Eleven's father is. I guess it kind of depends on how long they have been planning the One/Henry/Vecna character, but I am wondering if he is actually Eleven's biological father...although I really hate the secret parent trope.nosoupforyou said:

I think the spend half the season off & on trying to "find" Max and then she somehow plays a part in ending 001.SB 43rd STREET OG said:
Yeah she's in a weird vegetative state and is still trapped somewhere thanks to 01 but no way 11 doesn't somehow track her down in Season 5.

There's no option for "Spoiler," so I flagged the post as "Disrespectful Guest." I recommend others do the same, because staff is likely to take care of it before thepartygoat does. Sucks how many people have already been spoiled by it.
When can this thread just be a spoiler included thread?
This is silly that people come to a fan thread and haven't watched it yet.. the thread will be much better when we can actually talk about the things that happened and ask real questions

I guess the way this would work is Dr. Brenner is first introduced to One, realizes he is a psychopath, so controls him by subduing his powers, but begins searching for a child that is equally as powerful that is easier to control. Two-Ten are all disappointments, so he has One essentially breed with Terry who is also telekinetically gifted.
But then the more I think about it, the more retconning that would require, as I feel like Terry would have shown this to Eleven in season 2.

I guess that makes sense…
I guess the question becomes now… How long before we can assume everyone has seen it? It was only two episodes so hopefully pretty soon we can release 'Spoiler free' and actually talk about it

Just throwing out a random date… July 5th, post-holiday? That gives everyone the entire holiday and four full days to have seen it all.

Max is almost assuredly not brain dead, both from a story and more practical aspect. Max's struggles this season were an allegory for depression and suicide. Dear Billy was her being talked off the ledge by friends and music. The finale was her "attempting suicide" after believing that she had control of things and inevitably "relapsing", creating the message that depression is not something you can completely control or hide from, and is a constant struggle. While it would've made sense thematically to kill her off outright, the fact that the Duffer Bros did not do that demonstrates that they are trying to convey a sense of hope for those suffering from depression. That there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Having her remain brain dead would be much too bleak than simply killing her off immediately.
Also, no way they are going to pay an actress for a whole 'nother season for her to remain brain dead. The Duffer Bros also stated that season 4 was the Empire strikes back season, which was obvious from the way it ended on a bitter note, but one could also take that to mean that Max is getting Han Solo'd, stuck in a carbonite coma.

I read somewhere that Kate Bush is making $1 million/week off her song being played because she owns all rights to it. Imagine a song doing better 40 years after it was recorded than initially.
I am a fan of 80's music and have an extensive playlist that I am pretty proud of and somehow had never heard this song anywhere until this season came out. As soon as I heard it, it had me wondering why it wasn't a bigger song that you occasionally hear in Walgreens or Kroger nowadays. Maybe now we will. Really dig the song.

Also, as a guitar player, I appreciate how accurate Eddie's finger placement was during Master of Puppets. Does anyone know if he is actually playing it on set? I wouldn't be surprised, if that were the case.
Apparently he is a really good guitarist, and the Duffer Bros lucked out because they didn't know he could play until after they cast him in the part.Fairview said:DallasTeleAg said:

Based on what Ive read he does play guitar and was playing it in the scene. The actual music was dubbed over but he did play along.

Man this show just keeps bringing it. Stayed up late and my toddler will punish me in 5 hours but worth it.
What a cliff hanger.
My only complaint is doesn't anyone ever go for the head?!?
Thor should be teaching everyone a valuable lesson.

My one concern is that I just don't see where you take these characters next season in terms of their emotional stakes/character arcs. Because just about everyone feels like they evolved emotionally to the point of reaching the end of their respective character arcs, in pretty significant fashion. I totally get that there's plenty of *plot* left, but their character journeys feel complete. More than anything, that's why the final episode felt like a series finale and not a season finale, save for those last few minutes. I just really hope it they have somewhere to take take these characters mentally and not just physically.

Those are all minor plot line ideas for Season 5
I am expecting a major Russia vs USA plot line - maybe even they have to join forces to defeat the mind flayer which would be a nice twist
