I felt he was an important part of the comic relief, that helped balance the darker/horror side of it. Same with the smuggler.

Murray as the smuggler was maybe my favorite part of the season. That and his karate skills after training against children.

Agree but the only reason they decided to go back was because they exhausted all their options of returning back to Hawkins and knew they were out of time.

Argyle was fine. Neither a net positive/negative. Way more things to complain about.


Pros:

- Best season since S1, all things considered
- Max and Max's storyline
- All scenes Dustin
- This season's core crew (Max, Lucas, Dustin, Eddie, Steve, Nancy and her gun fetish, Robin)
- The horror emphasis
- Backstory/history exposition
- Murray
- Dead horse here, but Kate Bush's music being an critical, underlying plot point is what TF I'm talmbout
- Using "Pass the Dutchie" a couple of times - complete 100% 80's banger


Cons:

- Mike
- Will
- Mike and Will
- Mike and Will's haircut
- Mike and Eleven
- Will calling Mike the heart (FOH with that)
- The amount of screen time allotted to the Russia story arc; didn't need that for the full season
- Episode lengths, could've definitely used some post-prod editing
- Mike Wheeler
- The basketball team captain/bully guy



Overall, the cons are really focused (for me), but really enjoyed the direction the show went this season so the pros outweighed them big time. A lot of questions answered and just a few left to justify a final season.

The basketball captain was a good bad guy. And watching him get sliced in half at the end was so satisfying.

I completely forgot about him and his storyline until he popped up in the gun store. It was an "oh yeah, those guys are still out there" moment for me.

When pass the dutchie came on i cracked up. I love that song.

I had a hard time getting past how short he was. Kept thinking, yeah right, this tom cruise midget honkey is really the leader of the basketball team.

I also think they kind of wasted the whole vigilante story line. They didn't really do anything. I thought the captain guy was going to bust in earlier in the last episode and Vecna was going to abandon Max and take him over for the kill. Then the gang would have to abandon the plan and save the day. I now believe that I should just let the Fluffer brothers just do the writing and I just do the watching.

Larry Bird is one of the greatest basketball players to ever live, not just a high school lettermen.

Dramatic scene in the series finale. The gang has to escape, but run up on one of the big chasms. Mike sacrifices himself for the group and they are all able to cross the chasm by walking across on Mike's nose.

Maybe they discover his tears are poison to Vecna ala Signs.

That is the second person that has independently brought up vecna being els dad and that is just so weird that anyone has come up with that let alone multiple people.
