You know there is some nice synergy of Bix going back to Mina-Rau at the end of Andor to Obi-Wan taking Baby Luke to Tatooine at the end of Revenge of the Sith.

The Empire would be extremely unlikely to look for her there because she was already hiding there, barely made it out alive, and killed two Imperial officers there (and nearly got raped, but they probably don't know that) - plus saw one of her best friends die there. Lots of bad memories, but probably a lot of good ones too, and a place that she and Andor were probably happy.

Taking Luke to Tatooine - albeit the Empire not even realizing he's alive - goes along the same parallel. Arguably the worst moment of Anakin's life - his mom's death - took place there, he'd never look there for Luke

Just finished episode 12 today with the family and we immediately went into Rogue One right after.

Holy crap does this change the emotions of the show…got choked up with realizing Andor died a father and never knew it…and it hits even harder when you interpret Bix knowing she's pregnant and having to keep it a secret so Andor won't leave the rebellion…when I was watching rogue one I dang near started crying at the end simply because of this backstory…

The sense of urgency is even greater as well! At the end of episode 12 I didn't understand who they were referring to with Tivic and the planet he was on…and the very first scene with rogue one just went, "oh holy crap that's where they were going!!"

I do agree with a few posters here that comment on the alliance politics stuff in 12 where several of them were dumping on Luthen…was kinda surprised…

Also…episodes 10 and 11….holy hell my heart was racing! Like, literally racing! That was such good story telling and tension building and I'm so glad they went all out.

Coolest scene? K2 using the ISB captain as a human shield! Total boss move!

I'm in the middle of Rogue One, and it's amazing how beautifully this movie wraps up the Andor series. It literally feels like the final arc of the series.

And the sense of urgency feels even more intense with the full context of what the Rebellion has been doing in the days (and years) leading up to the movie.

Also, Cassian going off on Jyn about having been in this fight since he was six...that hits hard now.

I am rewatching season 2 now, all day today. I am on the 9th episode currently, and right now Senator Mothma is giving her speech to the Senate. It just occurred to me that it will be mere days before the Emperor dissolves the Senate permanently, as Tarkin states in Star Wars.

Well it's a year jump to the final arc.

The third act of Rogue One is just so damn good. A complete struggle for our heroes every step of the way. And again, all the more intense now after Andor.

And now A New Hope tomorrow.

I had to google that and I'm still confused

Edit: oh…Nevermind…

My first search showed a mathematical formula of a…squished circle…

Further scrolling…revealed…a different…thing…regarding…grammar…

I don't know man it's a quirk

I have already watched all the way to Return of the Jedi!

Andor-ROTJ I will put up against any other segment of a movie franchise.

Finally watched the last 3 episodes last night. Man, the dialogue in this show is next level. Someone posted one of my favorite lines from the interaction between Deedra and Luthen. Only 2 pieces of questionable providence. My real favorite, and it's a highlight of how expertly written and acted Krennic is, when he asks Deedra "has my reputation fallen so precipitously?" She has no idea how badly she screwed everything up.

Good stuff from Star Wars Jesus - Tony Gilroy

"I had a good idea how much mileage we were going to put on these characters, and how hard the road was going to be. There's a shadow over the show, and I just knew not just dramatically, but personally there had to be literally legitimate hope at the end of this thing, or it was really… not abusive, but just wrong … I really wanted to underline it for anybody who was doubtful about it. When they get to the end, they go, 'Oh my God, she was pregnant. That's why she's leaving.'

"On the dark side…it makes his sacrifice that much worse, doesn't it?"

Gilroy revealed another juicy piece of information when he confirmed Princess Leia was almost a part of Andor Season 2. The idea was floated with the creative team in early conversations but unfortunately never made it past that. As exciting as this may have been, Gilroy and team ultimately decided against it.

"There were some conversations early on….I was trying to get the most out of that Investiture Week and those parties…and we were trying to find out, on the timeline, where she would be in the Senate.

"There were some nutrients for a scene between her and Mothma…If she was going there at 16 and Mothma had gone to the Senate when she was 16, there was some basic cool things for a scene, but it never got past that, and it never went to the casting stage, or it never got more real than that. I remember talking to Kathy [Kennedy] about it and talking to Pablo [Hidalgo] about it, but it never got traction, and then it became a distraction."

It was probably better there was no Leia ,but I would have really dug a scene where Mon Mothma is showing her around and when they're finally alone Mon Mothma starts giving her the Rebellion speech and Leia cuts her off and says, "My dad's been getting me ready to fight the Empire since I was X years old."

In a sense, her REAL dad was getting her ready to fight the empire all along.

I think a Lea and Kleya or Lea and Leda scene would be better than one with Mon. Maybe even with Vel instead. Better opportunities for contrasts

That's a great point. Could have had Leia and Bail at the wedding. Leia and Leda are about the same age, and you could have gotten us used to Benjamin Bail earlier.

Rewatching the series from the start, and the song playing at the Chandrilan wedding is the same as the one at the club Cassian walked into at the start of the series.

It's called "Niamos", for those interested. Or "Brasso" if you find the show's albums.

If anyone is thinking about rewatching, or just wants to watch a great set of reaction videos for the season, I highly recommend these guys. It's super fun seeing it with two guys who are so emotionally invested in the show, and there's never a "fake" feeling from any of their reactions.

Just finished my first rewatch today. It was even better the second time. May watch it again next epweekend and follow up with Rogue One, which I have watched a bunch of times over the years since I consider it the third best Star Wars movie.

Random thought. Mon Mothmas car was definitely designed by Lincoln
God loves you so much He'll meet you where you are. He also loves you too much to allow to stay where you are.

I was curious if you've given the soundtracks a listen to. I'm jealous of everyone watching Rogue One right after, but given your general connousiership (not a real word) of movie/tv music, I wanted to know what you thought.

Is it available as a release of all episodes? I found it for three episodes each.

I went straight to the final 3 episode playlist.

Past/Present/Future is obviously the high point of the entire thing. (The music playing in the final montage of the series.)

That scene was very reminiscent of the show Dark, which loved its character/music montages. (One of the best shows ever, btw.)

Definitely going into the regular rotation for me.
