It amazes me how well attuned to our government I am by finding brand new things I was never aware of.

As I've stated before, I THOUGHT I was relatively informed about our government and then Ben Fiasco started his thread 9 years ago. Flickering lights were suddenly brightened in my brain as to my staggering ignorance.

This article is another thing I've never heard of, read about, or heard anyone speak of. I just assumed the DOJ oversaw these judges, like everyone else.

Yet another Obama-judge Talwani special. She will still lose, again. Reminder that no Republicans, not a single one, voted against her.

No red flags there.

An anchor baby herself who thinks she is in charge of re-writing immigration laws she disapproves of. Her long history of extra-judicial remarks about immigration law should require that she be recused from these cases, or recuse herself. Really, she should be impeached as with all Obama-Biden judges but that won't happen either.

Quick question on empaneling a grand jury.

My assumption for empaneled grand juries, based on nothing but timing, suggests any, and all, investigative information is either ready, or being prepared, to be presented to the grand jury.

I ask this due to federal investigations taking many months to complete. But since investigations for 5-8 different Democrat corruption events were all ordered last year, I'm hoping some information is ready for presentation.

Whatever the word is that is worse than cynicism is where most conservatives are right now.

Yes, once a grand jury as here is empaneled a lot of information is ready to be presented. But, the GJ itself can ask questions/get more information before returning an indictment, and in general is somewhat unpredictable.

There's a lot of cynicism about a grand jury in modern federal jurisprudence/legal circles, going back decades now I guess at least to Sal Wachtler's famous line about how he could 'indict a ham sandwich.' (His book I had to read in legal ethics class and found his story/life fascinating, fwiw, he was a smart guy who got hooked on drugs and had a wild downfall).

This GJ here is responsible handling charges for a broad array of investigations and I would expect some indictments to be issued, publicly, in the next 60 days (just a guess). The reason for the cynicism I do understand, as federal prosecutors have an astoundingly high white collar conviction rate for indictments they obtain, and again it's so easy for them to get an indictment, but all we can do is hope that this is competently prosecuted which might explain the year-long delay in getting to this point (and blame also resides with the senate for refusing to drive thru USA appointment confirmations).

That entire case is what happens when the cow is already out of the barn.

You can scream at the cow all that you want. But it is not going back in the barn. You can scream at the barn and it cannot force the cow back in.

Boasberg is in a rough spot where the limits of his authority is fully on display. Is he smart enough to retreat gracefully? Or will he continue to double down on his verbal order that did not align with the written order?
