The kurds might be able to take control of some cities to the north, but wouldn't touch Tehran. The fascinating thing would be what the regular Iranian military would do. The portion they could take over by Iraq has a bunch of their regular army units from the Iraq war era, in particular Hamzeh Sayed Shohada, though I think that's an IRGC one, in their mostly Kurdish 'West Azerbaijan' state.


They again have a huge land mass, and 31 roughly independent revolutionary guard units scattered about mostly toward the edges of the country. Decentralization perhaps made sense given the 'decapitation strikes' but it also increases the odds that once one or more flip/give up, progress might be made in a future stage (after they have missed some paychecks, and Trump tells the Iranians to go out into the streets, again).

Balochistan area (sp?) has also been a problem for Iran. The Azerbaijanis are not a big fan of the regime, either.

If the Kurds have air cover from the US and Israel then fhe IRGC is screwed anywhere they congregate they will be blown to pieces from air cover- you just need to Kurds to put enough pressure to get he IRGC to come together like sitting ducks on a pond

So far this has been a master class on how to topple a regime and have them take the blame. Crazy. Assuming we can help keep any major things from happening to our allies, this has been an astounding success. And frankly, as incredible as our military might and technological power is, it's been Israeli intelligence that's winning this war up to this point.

Because there will be air support plus American Special Forces and beaucoup weapons imbedded with them.
