Philly practice squad. Played 5 games. 600+ yards receiving. Not a scrub but probably not WR2.

He had some decent games for the colts the year before. If I remember he is a shallow route runner.

Grier is still around. And Stephen said they want a young guy to develop.

Not sure how the QBs shake out after Ward, Sanders, and Dart, but I wouldn't mind Ewers or Milroe as a development QB in the 5th or 6th, assuming they are available.

This is better because your backup can possibly develop into a starter while Rush while more polished has no future at a high level.

The Toronto North Stars, Monarchs, St Louis Stalions, and Austin Armadillos are all going to have better centuries than us. Could be worse though, at least we're not the Browns, Raiders or Texans

Austin will never have a pro football team. They already have to pay for one. The transplants love to be t-shirt fans.

Anybody know how much cap space we still have?

I think we had freed up over 50 mil and we've, what, maybe spent 15 of that?

So we're 29/32 on FA spending….per the usual. Come the **** on Jerry

Doesn't unused cap space carry over to the next year? I have no idea what they are doing otherwise. Why free up all that space and do NOTHING with it.

You can't cut Dak for at least another 2 years and all their restructuring of contracts hints at the fact that they are fine letting the cap go to crap in a few years and starting over. So why the hell aren't they doing anything now.

It really does stink of ownership that is hell bent on spending as little as possible and maximizing profits. They fooled me for years into believing that winning another Super Bowl was Jerry's biggest end of life goal. Nope... power and money are the Jones's only love.

What would everyone think about taking Warren the TE at 12?

Not a clear need but he's def a weapon.

What about the TE from BG that destroyed the Aggies in a later round?

Sign me up if available. I think he or Jeanty are the best overall offensive weapons in this draft, and we need offensive weapons.

I haven't studied him, but I don't mind that at all... I hear he's REALLY good!

IMO, if you already have a STUD WR (which we do), I'm more in favor of pairing him with a stud TE and/or RB than I am getting another stud WR.

Assuming his talent is worthy of the #12 pick, I'd be more excited for him than Tet McCmillan. Don't get me wrong, I'd be thrilled with Tet too, but my personal preference would be to add a bad ass TE to the roster.

I'd also be good with Mason Taylor later in the draft or you can never go wrong getting an Iowa TE in Luka Lachey.

Also Mitchell Evans from ND could be a bargain. He was considered an elite TE but he got injured in 2023 and missed a lot of 2024.

We have way too many other issues to draft an f'n tight end in the first round. Ferguson and Schoonmaker are fine.

I agree that I don't think we should use the first on a TE, but Ferguson is walking after this season probably.

It's probably a position that needs to be addressed at some point.

I have seen mocks where Warren makes it to 12, but not many. Would be great value.

I understand where you're coming from and we do have many holes to fill but I also think your line of thinking may be outdated.

I think today's game is about the trenches and playmakers on offense. I mean, Detroit didn't need a RB when they took Gibbs in the first two years ago.

Miami had plenty at RB when they took Achane.

Warren would add an intriguing element to this offense. If you could add a Kittle type element to this offense, how does that help Dak?
Danny Vermin

I hope they move down a bit and get another 3rd. I wouldn't take a TE until then and only if we can get another one. Honestly, if Helm slides because of injuries, I would definitely take him in the 5th.
Tksymm7

I tend to agree with this line of thinking, and one of our biggest issues or holes is lack of weapons or playmakers on offense. Warren immediately gives us another elite weapon on offense.

Drafting the best guy available usually works out. If he's the best TE in the draft and still there at 12 it wouldn't be a bad idea to take him.

They are "fine", but we need better than "fine", IMO.

I agree with you Danny, but when we are drafting at 12, I don't want (for example) a starting quality O-line guy if that means we are passing on an All Pro Quality TE.

Part of me agrees with this... we need picks and trading back would be a big help. But here's how I'm currently feeling:

1. Nobody is trading up to #12 and giving us a day 2 pick unless one of the TOP draft prospects is still on the board.

2. Jerry/Stephen are proving that they have NO interest in paying for free agents and the only way we are going to get top end talent for this team is to draft them.

So with that thought in mind, I'm not trading away from cream of the crop talent. I'm 100% taking Jeanty, Warren or Graham who are in most people's top 5. But it's hard to see any of them getting to 12. But CD had no business dropping to us either so we'll just have to wait and see.
Vince Blake

Just spitballing, but our Super Bowl-less brethren down I-45 might make a good trade partner. They have an extra 3rd and it allows them to maybe get one of those top tier offensive linemen. Cowboys may have a chance at Hampton at 25 and you feel better about picking him there than at 12.

I do agree with the above though, if there is a guy there that they think is going to be an All Pro someday (Jeanty, McMillan, Warren) just stay and take him.

Totally disagree. Nothing works if you don't have those, starting "Quality O-line" guys.

Anybody remember the last quality O-line guy the cowboys drafted first? Yeah, he's a HOFer. Just retired.

Dak ain't that fast and he's brittle: Get the big Uglies.
