Peter Schrager did a 1st round mock supposedly based on intel and has the Cowboys drafting Tyler Booker.

If that's the case, I hope they can move down and get an extra pick. Wouldn't hate the pick though.

I feel like the mocks are kinda all over the place because there aren't many QBs projected to go early. Never know though.

I've seen more TEs and RBs mocked in the first round than I can remember.

There are definitely guys out there that REALLY like Booker. It could definitely be a Zack Martin sorta deal where we get to #12 and Booker is by far the highest rated player on their board.

The more I think about our pick in the 1st round, the more I think that Jeanty being gone might be a blessing in disguise. Don't get me wrong, if he's there at 12 you'd be stupid not to draft him, most of my mock draft scenarios turn out the best when we draft a RB 2nd/3rd round.

The odds of getting three day 1 starters with our first 3 picks goes way up when we don't go RB in the 1st.

Schrager does in fact send his mock drafts out to a lot of his contacts throughout the league, including GMs etc., and they will in return send him bits of info like "be on the lookout for XXX going higher than people are talking about". It's a give and take of information.

With that being said, I think the mocks being all over the place is a good indicator that teams are also all over the place with these players and drafts.

Bring back Biadicz and we're one step closer to an all "Tyler" OL.

Wonder if the Cowboys are putting it out there that they like Booker to get conversations started with Seattle in a trade down? Seattle apparently really likes Booker.

That said, Booker wouldn't be a bad pick. An interior line of Tyler Smith, Cooper Beebe, Tyler Booker would be damn solid for years to come.

It definitely feels like typical draft smoke. I think the Cowboys do like him, just not at 12.

If I had to put a paycheck on a position we take in the first, it would be WR. I feel pretty comfortable in that.

Yeah, I think so. I think the Cowboys have 2 spots they know they have to fill... WR2 and RB1.

I think their entire draft gets off schedule if they don't take a WR in the first because now they will be chasing that need and there are limited options this year. Let's get it done with pick #1 and then we are free to take BPA to n the 2nd. Hopefully it's a RB, but it doesn't have to be. Could easily go CB at that spot.

As far as RBs go, I still really like Kaleb Johnson! I think he's my 2nd RB in this draft just in front of Hampton & Henderson. Guy is a stud.
Tksymm7

I would prefer Henderson and Johnson as well. Hampton seems like a guy who will have 2/3 really good years and then he'll disappear. Just my opinion.

I'm right there with you. I would love to land Hampton based on good tape and what everybody else says about him.

But just based on what my own eyes see, I like Johnson and Henderson a bit better

I love Kaleb Johnson and Judkins. I like Hampton too. I worry Henderson isn't big enough. They would have to draft or sign a bigger back too.

Henderson is just so good at everything including pass pro/blitz pickups. Also hear that he's a big locker room leader type. He's definitely #1 back quality, but I agree, not necessarily the type you hand the ball to 20+ times a game. He's gonna need a #2 back to split some carries. Not necessarily 50/50 like it was with Judkins though.

Johnson and Hampton, on the other hand... both are 6' 220+... absolute specimens that can be your bell cow RB. Draft them and then use them and abuse them until the wheels fall off! I just feel like Johnson has that extra bit of burst (over Hampton) that will give him the edge in the NFL.

Seems like most experts think we'll get McMillan or Golden. Many think McMillan will be the first WR off the board. Probably won't make it to 12.

It is feeling like he might not make it to us at 12, but after the top four i couldn't tell you at all how it will go at all. You could convince me Mason Graham slides and McMillan is picked top 5. You could also convince me Jihaad Campbell is taken at like 7 and Membou slides to us at 12. I have absolutely no clue haha,

I'm thinking it's 50/50 on McMillan being there at 12. We know of 5 guys that are practically top 10 locks (Ward, Hunter, Jeanty, Carter, Graham). After that, I think teams are starting to fall in love with 2-3 O-line guys, the 2 TE's (Warren and Loveland) and I think Jalon Walker (LB/EDGE) goes early as well. Possibly throw in a CB or D-line guy and there is room for guys to slide.

I think a lot of teams don't know if any of these WRs are true #1 guys so we could be sitting there at #12 with all of them still on the board.

I just wonder if Dallas doesn't like Golden better!? Jerry/Stephen (and perhaps McClay too) are stubborn sons of guns... they already spent our 4th rounder on a big bodied WR and they are going to give him a chance next year. I wonder if Golden isn't our #1 WR target straight up.

I still say Egbuka would be a great pick but I don't get the impression he's above the other 2. I'd love a trade down where we "settle" for Egbuka!

First four are set in stone. The order may change. Jacksonville at 5 is kind of a mystery. I've seen them with Jeanty, McMillan, Warren, etc. Then there's the Raiders. If Jeanty is gone, then what? Personally, I think McMillan will be there at 12 and we'll take him.

Would love Kaleb Johnson. He gets a lot of DeMarco Murray comps. I like Damien Martinez out of Miami too. Both similar big body dudes. I am hoping we can scoop Kaleb Johnson in the third. I think there is going to be some nice defensive talent on the board in the 2nd. Maybe Revel the CB or Carson Schwesinger LB out of UCLA who they reportedly really like. I even saw a mock this morning, maybe Daniel Jeremiah's, that had Will Johnson falling out of the first.

I don't think McMillan makes it to 12. If he's not there I am hoping for the trade back. If we come out of tonight with Egbuka or Golden plus and extra Day 2 pick, I am happy.

Yeah, I'd rather trade back if we can as well if he's not there.

I like it and I hope it plays out that way. Getting a 2nd round CB who can play right away would be huge.

The problem is, I don't think the RBs fall. I think it's likely we see 2 taken in the 1st round and I think we see 2 or 3 more gone before we even get into the bottom 1/3 of the 2nd round. If we wait until the 3rd round there will still be quality backs available, but we are probably looking at guys who are no better than the #7 or 8 RB on their board.

We've ignored RB far too long in the draft. If one of the top 2 or 3 RBs on their board is there at #44 I think you take them! Yes we have other needs, but the ONLY RBs currently on the roster are mid retreads and a little guy who they don't appear to love. Oh, and a sorta FB guy that McCarthy loved.

Since we are talking RB... I hope the Bears make a move up (maybe to NE spot at #4) to get Jeanty. If somebody like the Jags take Jeanty instead, it sure feels like the Bears will be prime to snipe one of our RB targets early in the 2nd round.

I know I'm going rapid fire here and prepare for this all day long... I LOVE the draft and today is the day!!!

But I'm listening to Cavanaugh & Broaddus from their show this morning... Bryan is hearing that the Cowboys like Egbuka more than Golden. Let's F'n go if that's true!

if Jeanty, McMillan, and Golden there at 12....who does Jerry take? I think he'd have a JFF moment and need to be put in the corner.

Hypothetical, if Jacksonville does select Jeanty like many are thinking, the thought is Travis Etienne immediately goes on the trade block. Would you take him if you could get him for say a 5th?

Jeanty no doubt. They don't have a starting RB on the roster. I'd love it if Dallas to avoid Golden.

Getting an RB in the first 2 rounds I believe is crucial unless they plan to get one in back to back rounds. There are several bigger speed backs in this draft and once they are gone, they gone. There will be plenty of top end corners after the 4th. This draft has so many good RBs it's crazy but Dallas has so many needs at RB (need a power back and a speed back) along with OL, DT, and corner and a real #2 WR.

Absolutely! That solves the speed back issue immediately. Use a 2nd on one if many of the 220+ pound studs or wait for the 3rd for Martinez or Scatteboo.

Yes! I said as much in a previous post, I think we are locking in at WR . If we take a random position at 12 our whole draft might unravel... we'll end up chasing/reaching to fill the WR and RB voids the rest of the draft.

Fortunately for Dallas, the draft sets up nicely for us get the help we need. There will be a WR there at #12... take him and take WR off the table! Trade back a little into the teens perhaps, that's fine, but just make sure and get your guy!

Now we go into round 2 looking at RB. And if by chance 4 or 5 RBs are off the board before we get to #44, then that sucks, but we are still OK. We regroup, take BPA, and re-focus on RB next round.
