There's literally nothing to worry about with this Cowboys team. We're not good and even if they backdoor their way in to the playoffs they aren't winning anything. Enjoy the wins and don't sweat the losses

We have one of, if not THE, top offenses in the league. I dont think any team has really established themselves as being elite this year, so I think it is likely we will be in the hunt. And you never really know what can happen once you are in the playoffs either.
I think our flaws on defense will likely prevent any of that from happening, but its still to say we aren't good at all.

I would be all over trading him. Take the cap hit now so that we are free of it going into next year and let's get more draft capital (or heck, trade him for a stud LB).

I'm all for keeping talented guys on the roster, and he is talented, but if it's not going to work out long term (and we have no chance at a championship this year) then by all means, let's get something for him.

Pretty sure a 1st is out of the question, definitely not both. He's had some great years, but he lacks consistency. I was thinking worse case is a 3rd rounder to replace what we gave up for Pickens.

But a 2nd rounder is probably fair compensation for a team that is trying to compete and needs CB help (so assuming it would be a back half of the 2nd round sorta pick).

I think we'd be lucky to get a third round pick for him. He's highly paid, hard to coach and has given up a 154.9 passer rating on throws in coverage this year.

Maybe the Packers give us another pick to reunite him with micah?!

All that horrible stuff he did to his employees notwithstanding, I really wish Dan Snyder was still around because I would have no problem violating the "you never trade star players within your division" rule to let Dan Quinn see if he can get Diggs back on track. Unfortunately I don't think any teams would agree to take on that contract, especially when he's a viable candidate to get cut this offseason.

It's well known that I had a man crush on that guy during the draft. Sucks that I was right about him and that he's not a Cowboy.

But it's all good, 15 picks after the Lions got Gibbs we acquired Mazi Smith. Have you seen that guy do stair hops!?!

Cannot be talked about enough, but the Cowboys opened the 21-day practice windows for Cooper Beebe, Shavon Revel Jr., and Overshown. They also activated Johnathan Mingo, so that should give us another solid special teams player at the very least.

While I don't think any of Beebe, Revel Jr. and Overshown are going to be back much before the end of the 21-day practice window, it does mean that things are looking up from a player personnel perspective.

Good points.

I really like the idea of getting Crosby. Adding Crosby and Overshown to this defense in a couple of weeks could really change the look of this defense.

It looks like the Colts may make a move for him also. Not sure if there will be a bidding war or if the Raiders could just prefer the Packers' 1st this year to the Colts' 1st.

No question they could do all that and resign PIckins.


Basically, you would be swaping Parsons for Crosby (at about $10m per year less) and adding Clark and a 3rd. That's pretty darn good if you can pull that off.
