What he's doing is actually making more tests a bad thing - if he's just going to use "total cases" as evidence to shame any county resident that isn't cowering in fear in their house. A truly bad dude.
Went to our local Mexican place on the Friday open last week (5/01). I got there around 2 so was definitely there during a normal lull anyway. It was me and 5 other adults plus 2 kids in the restaurant. By about 3pm, it was just me at the bar and that's it. I stayed until about 4 just drinking margs by myself simply because I was enjoying drinking somewhere else besides my own home.yukmonkey said:
Any anecdotes that people have from the reopening over the last week?

The weekend numbers drop significantly. This will probably rebound to the mid-600s Monday. It's likely a reporting issue.DFWTLR said:TexasAggie008 said:

He's the worst, according to the Texas health and human services website 25% of dallas counties tests have been completed in the last 7 days. Also our confirmed hospital cases for North Texas has dropped to 569, not bad for nearly 8 million people.
I'm saying WGAS now. The Tarrant County judge across the street doesn't anymore, if I'm judging by the Mother's Day party he had yesterday at his house. Old people and really sick people stay home. Everyone else go back to work so we can hopefully not go into a depression that takes decades to dig out of.double aught said:
Are you saying Coronavirus is over?

The Texas COVID dashboard now plots this info and it dips every weekend.
Just to give an idea of how fast the test increase was, in Dallas County as of 5/2, the total number of tests was 30,622.TexasAggie008 said:

Simple math says that's around a 14% positive rate. Not great, but also far from the dire numbers Clay wants us to believe. ICU admissions and symptoms are declining.

Too soon to know. Next 2 weeks will be telling. Of course, Judge Clay is focusing on total numbers instead of percent positive.Quote:
If reopening was a drastic failure, wouldn't we see skyrocketing numbers by now? Or is end of month probably best?

Good idea of what? Number of cases? Number of deaths? What are we telling?
What problem are we even trying to solve?
