Sub 100 new cases is becoming regular for Dallas county.
Is that new cases or all positive tests? If you do test positive then don't you typically take another test days after to confirm and then another one like 10 days after the first positive to hope to start the clock on that first negative test?

I'd assume all positives. When I tested positive, I just had the one test. The risk with these tests are false negatives; false positives haven't really been an issue from what I understand.

Since March 2020, I've known 1 person who was hospitalized (60 y/o male, no known conditions), and that was in the Fall. Who the heck are all these hospitalized people now? I know of one other person who has gotten covid since vaccinations became available, he was vaccinated (65 y/o male), and he said it felt like it was a summer cold for 2-3 days.
Maybe I/we live in a bubble? Am I showing my #privilege?

I know of one person who was hospitalized and later died. He was also morbidly obese and a traveling nurse working ground zero. This was in early 2020.
That's my only example.

-Class of 04 guy I know just lost his dad (old) and sister-in-law (not). His brother was in the unit too but made it out. Mom caught it too, but had been vaxxed, and was fine.
-Friend from back home in Centex (she's 43) has a niece and nephew-in-law in the unit. Good times.

I've been watching this dashboard closely for about 3 weeks since Delta got rolling. The growth rate of 7-day rolling average new cases and estimated total cases has started to slow over the past few days. Hopefully we'll see it plateau and reverse soon.
