Lol the make up calls now are ridiculous. The refs are now calling stupid touch fouls on OKC to make up for the insane free throw disparity.

After all these stupid calls when the game is over the foul discrepancy will be much closer than it should. stupid refs.

As tons of people are leaving the announcers say no one leaves early.

Hopefully the NBA was just trying to make the series look respectable and get everyone excited for the Ibaka storyline. If they are going all in for the Thunder/Heat finals, I'm done with the NBA completely.

I think I'll be avoiding ESPN until Tuesday. Gonna be a 2012 and Serge circle jerk until then.

Even with the 9 free throws we attempted in garbage time with under 3 minutes to go and the benches cleared, OKC still shot close to twice as many free throws 31 to 16.

Agreed
But if the Thunder win Tuesday, Spurs are in trouble
Spurs HAVE to win

I just told my wife the same thing. Each year I watch over a hundred games but if this series is a screw job then I'm out. Probably be back for Tim, Tony, Manu & Pop's last games but that'll be it.

Can't believe that the announcer was trying to justify that officiating. No matter what style you play there should never be a 20-0 difference in a quarter shooting free throws. And the Patty three wiped off changed the game. 8 point swing that pretty much ended things. Oh well, with the NBA, I figured this game was probably a loss regardless of how well we would have played.

Agreed
Enough is enough
I hope the Spurs come out and destroy the Thunder on Tuesday

Tuesday is not a must win. It is for OKC though.

I expect the Spurs to come out strong. Need more aggressiveness from Tony and Kawhi, more energy to get to those rebounds and try to defend without fouling.

Lol classic Pop. Reporter asks if Manu is ok after going to the locker room in the 4th. Pop, "he'll be fine. Or, he's out for the rest of the playoffs."
Ulrich

Lose Tuesday and it goes 7. I think OKC would be rightly favored in a game 7 even in San Antonio as long as Ibaka is playing.

Didn't realize Manu went to the locker room early. That is concerning.

Manu is fine
Even though as stated above he could be out for the rest of the playoffs
Classic Pop
Hopefully he tells them to rebound the dang ball Tuesday
Ulrich

Can't do anything about the officiating, but the rebounding was embarrassing. That has to be fixed or the Spurs don't deserve to win the game.

I'm not going to be one of those Thunder fans who says "see if we had Ibaka wouldn't have lost both of those first two games," but what I will say is the Thunder absolutely made the right choice choosing him over Harden.

Gonna be a tougher fight on Tuesday for sure, Spurs will definitely get more out of Parker than they did tonight.

I agree with all of this, and I believe I agreed with you at the time of the trade. Ibaka is a huge gamechanger for the Thunder. He stretches the opposing defense and dominates the lane on defense. He erases a lot of mistakes. You can't really blame a 35 point loss on the absence of one player, but he turns this from a laugher to a seriously competitive series. I'm hoping the Thunder are too far in the hole to make it all the way back.
Pahdz

He's made so much progression from season to season, and I still don't think he's anywhere close to his ceiling. He's got zero back to the basket game, plenty of growth opportunity there.

I just don't know if I'd see Harden show the kind of toughness Ibaka showed tonight.
Ulrich

The other thing with Harden is that he overlaps a lot with Westbrook. They both are both slashing combo guards with suspect defense. Tough to pay two of those players 15mm+.

I've wondered if the Thunder should have gone with Harden instead of Westbrook. I still wonder how that would have played out, but I suspect that fewer people would reflexively dismiss that idea now compared to the time of the trade.
Pahdz

At least when Westbrook is focused on defense he can be a great defender with his athleticism. I'm not sure I've ever seen that from Harden.

Just imagine if the Thunder had managed to swing the dream rumor Rondo for Westbrook trade a couple years ago, and managed to keep Harden. I think that team is a lot scarier.

They have identical career defensive DRtg (and they are both pretty bad). Agree that Westbrook has the potential to be a better defender and occasionally shows it, but his defensive intensity usually manifests itself as playing out of control and out of position, giving up free lanes to the basket.

Westbrook obviously has the athletic ability to be a great defender, but I doubt he will ever have the discipline to be a great defender.

Hey Spurs fans;

Will we see a repeat of what happened two years ago, or will the
Spurs nut up and beat the Thunder and really take control of this series.

Te Spurs are mentally shot. OKC wins next 3 of 4.

If the Spurs were mentally weak, then they would not have rebounded from last year's devastating loss in the Finals by having the best regular season record this year.

But please, do dream that the Spurs are mentally weak.

If OKC gets a huge free throw disparity again then they will probably win. OKC scored almost 25% of their points off of free throws. In the third quarter they scored 18 of their 26 points (70%) at the free throw line. This is against a Spurs team that is known for playing defense without fouling.

Plus the Spurs starters went 20-56, which is one of their worst outputs of the year.

OKC still hasn't shot above 50% in three games. I think the Spurs are still the favorite.

Did I not state during the mavs vs spurs thread something about FTs disparity between mavs and spurs and got told to stfu and quit crying by spurs fans?

The ****s going on in here?

There were 20% more fouls on the Thunder than Spurs in game 3. The Spurs are a 3 point shooting team and aren't aggressive at driving to the basket outside of Parker and Ginobili. I agree with earlier poster on the refs....it's ironic the Spurs' fans complain about calls.

Now that the Heat are up 3-1, Spurs really gotta win tonight or they'll be in trouble. Heat probably close it out tomorrow, so going into the Finals after a 6 or 7 game series, vs a well-rested Heat team wouldn't exactly be ideal.

If Spurs lose tonight, this one's going 7.
