My favorite quote about the Thunder, Heat, and Pacers went like this.

"Q: how do you beat these teams?
A: [No delay] play basketball."

I too, love when basketball wins. Go Pop, Timmy, and the Spurs!

The Spurs stick so tightly to their principles that virtually every one of their victories feels like a "quintessential Spurs victory," but their performance on Saturday still stands out as "particularly quintessential," pardon the redundancy. If the 2013-14 Spurs have been known for one thing, it's their depth, with no player -- not even Parker or Kawhi Leonard -- averaging 30 minutes a night during the regular season. Such an approach requires trust and ingenuity from a coach and readiness from every player on the roster.

Here was an ultimate test for the whole philosophy. This wasn't a throwaway back-to-back in January; this was the Western Conference finals, on the road, down seven, against the league's MVP and his All-NBA running buddy playing desperate basketball.

Out of these dire circumstances, Popovich did a particularly quintessential Popovich thing: he cobbled together a second half starting lineup that had played a grand total of zero minutes during the entire 2013-14 season and 2014 playoffs. Third-year, third-string point guard Cory Joseph, the second-to-last player taken in the first round of the 2011 draft, joined Danny Green, Leonard, Tim Duncan and Matt Bonner, who had been tapped to replace Tiago Splitter for matchup purposes. In the biggest game of the season, Popovich moved on without Parker by playing the role of jazz conductor, randomly pointing at various members of his Big Band to keep the music going.

My opinion all along was that OKC was the biggest hurdle to a championship this year. We caught a huge break with Ibaka missing the first 2 games. This goes to 7 for sure if he played every game. But yet, we didn't let our misfortune get in the way... We just went out and overcame a halftime deficit, in OKC, with Parker on the bench.

There isn't a better team out there this year.

I'm going to miss Steve Kerr as TNT analyst. He had the stones to call out flops and make up calls. And like Marv Albert said, he won't be able to say those things when he's a head coach.

Going back over my twitter feed from last night, I didn't realize Ketchum was rooting for the Thunder.

This adds an extra dimension of awesome to the win.

Rewatched the end of the game... LOL at Westbrook's last shot, picturing that gif in my head. It was obvious they ran a screen with Ibaka to clear Durant for the shot... But Wussle decided to go head to head with Timmy and Manu. He like jumpa up with his legs flailing (hoping for a foul?) and the ball goes sailing and hits the top of the backboard. The worst shot I've seen all playoffs.

ROFL! Wussle Westbrook! We thank you!

Gotta love Beli not hitting much all series then canning a huge 3 in the 4th. Of course it was the result of a Kawhi steal.

Bonus: Check out Pop's little bit of emotion as Beli's shot approaches the rim. After rewatching the game again, Pop did quite a bit of this "body english" during the game. Love it.

Guitar? Was that stat from just game six or the entire series?

It is crazy to think how good OKC could be if they actually ran an offense.

I'll assume this was an auto correct from "entire series" and not some reference to your blood pressure watching the refs call the games in OKD...

I just stumbled across this video on YouTube.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVitzGz9g2s

That shows why Westbrook isn't a top 5 player and why he'll never win a championship unless Durant drags his ass across the finish line, kicking and screaming. He's had 4 years of experience and he's still an athlete playing basketball, not a basketball player who's athletic. Not only that, but he's shown no desire to improve. He's still making a lot of the same mistakes he made in year 1.

That video was made after their 2012 season and he still makes those mistakes, having just finished his 6th season in the league. His inability to learn is why the Thunder have a long way to go to be crowned champions. To be that much of an obvious competitor and not improve your lacking areas shows just how completely idiotic he is.

Hell, in the time Westbrook's been in the league, LeBron has become an elite post and wing defender, developed a post game, and has become one of the most efficient scorers in the league. Westbrook has become a marginally better shooter and rebounder.

A couple more from Game 6...

Westbrook doing dumbass things. Shocking, I know. Throws a sharp elbow at Duncan, proceeds to complain to the ref, all while giving up an open passing lane to Boris for a 3. Can't stand the guy.

To the people complaining about Duncan's screen to free up Manu for the huge 3.... Let's all take a look at Serge literally lunging at Kawhi at the end of game 6. The terrible screen doesn't work as Kawhi fights through it and Westbrook throws it over the backboard. Hilarious.

Ibaka did the same thing earlier in the game, too, except that it got someone an open look. His screens literally move 5 feet during contact with the offensive player. He rides them out of the play.

It was for the Durant 3 that he missed a play or two earlier. It did get him open that time. I just haven't been able to find a gif of it.

And if you look at Wussle shooting that 3, in mid-flight he kicks both legs out to the side hoping to draw a foul from either guy guarding him. No wonder the guy sailed it over the back-board. It's like halfway into the shot he decided "no way I'm making this" and was looking for a bailout! He also throws both arms forward hoping for contact. Wow!

Durant is a classy guy on and off the court and my only frustration with him is that he is good and puts up lots of points against my team (that and he is a T-sip). Westbrook, on the other hand, is a straight up punk. I just don't like him. Those gifs are perfect examples.

Still amazed that we got past the refs in that series. So ridiculous.

LOL, yeah! Some of us, me included, were vocal in that we did not want to play OKC in the playoffs and that was the #1 reason. We certainly got some bad calls that went our way, no doubt, but here is the black and white facts that nobody can dispute:

Free Throws in the Series:
Parker - 7
Westbrook - 57

Fifty Friggin Seven FTs to Seven. 5. 7. Fifty. Seven. FIFTYSEVEN!!!!! Recount..... 57!!!!!

Un....believable!!!!!!
