Matty is a career 46% 3pt shooter and Diaw shot 40% this year. If the adustment Brooks is making is to simply not guard them, I can't wait to see those two drain some 3's. Wide open looks all night for 3 points? I'll take it.
I would force those 2 to beat me instead of letting manu, Tony, and Tim beat me. Besides, Perkins and collision can guard bonner. Maybe not Boris though.

It's the playoffs. You have to account for Bonner's pucker factor, which will be strong.
OKC favored by 3.5 points.
It's hilarious that they can lose by 28 and still be favored the next game.
There's been a pretty clear pattern so far though. Okc should be favored at home.

This. It's like us trying to make Ibaka and Jackson beat us instead of Durant/Westbrook.
Boris drives himself off the 3 point line enough that Duncan will need to box out Ibaka so he can't go for the block.
I wonder if that means they are switching Ibaka to Duncan/Splitter or just asking him to sag with a foot below the free throw line. Big difference.

I think Bonner's percentages drop because the closeouts are generally much better in the playoffs. He takes a long time to get a shot off. If they give him that time, he'll start making them.
Making Bonner and Diaw beat you sounds like a good plan, except that if they're both playing well then it's coming within the confines of the offense and chances are our better players are also playing well. This is the difference between the Spurs and OKC, we win most games with contributions from multiple players. Very rarely does one of our "stars" dominate a game single handedly and carry the team to victory. On the flip side, if Durant and Westbrook don't both play amazing, they're not winning.
If OKC elects to leave Ibaka in the paint and let Perkins, Adams, and Collison try and guard Bonner and Diaw with those big oafs, that's fine. They don't ever chase guys out along the 3 point line and it will result in open looks. It's always possible to just go ice cold, but if those two guys come out and knock down a few open threes, it's going to force the Thunder to respect them and continue to open up the lane.

I wonder if confining Ibaka to the paint is a reaction to his injury. He went from season ending injury to 30, 35, and 27 minutes over 6 days, and the Spurs made him run while he was on the court. I'm not sure if he can handle 30+ minutes of gametime if he's having to continually run back and forth from the paint to the 3pt-line while he's on D.

I'm watching a video that is basically a retrospective on Duncan's career. Talking about his wealth of experience, how he's approaching the end of his career, lots of quotes from people about what a great player he was. The video was made during the 2010 playoffs.

And then I watched the video of his 2003 NBA finals highlights. In that series he averaged 24.2 points, 17 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 5.3 blocks, and 1 steal. Matched up against Mutombo and Kenyon Martin.

And people wonder why so many non Texans don't appreciate the Spurs! I'm a broken record at this point... but seriously! They featured Collison before game one for crying out loud!
