THe shooter needs room to land, but the defender should be entitled to the space they were in before the shot. Fox didn't move towards Miller, it shouldn't be considered a closeout. If it is a foul, it is on Miller for moving forward and making contact with Fox. But the refs are ****ing awful.

The refs called a bad one on Castle earlier in the game. One of many they got wrong.

Bad foul by Barnes that basically put the game away. Harper was playing good and Mitch didn't put him back in the game when needed.

Could Mitch have challenged that Miller was backcourt when he passed it? That wasn't even close but is it challengable.

Until that foul, Barnes was playing great. He was hustling for loose balls, was 3-5 from three and he was playing physical defense. Spurs were very positive in his minutes. I can't believe he made that foul.

Don't think so b/c there was no call and the play went on.

He could have challenged the stupid one they called on Castle in the 1st half but it seems like they want to save challenges for big momentum plays or things like that Fox foul that shouldn't have been called.

Yea and that's probably the right decision.

The one on Castle was bad. When it happened I was really confused because nobody ever touched it backcourt and the announcers were speaking like it was obvious. I think their comment was "He should know better" about Barnes passing it to Castle.

The ref that called it was way back in the back court and not close to the mid court line and had absolutely no vision of where the ball was when Castle touched it. He should have relied on the other two that could actually see the ball.

Lots of really, really bad calls today, as always.

Suns get out of the luxury tax and get Sochan and 2 seconds. Spurs stay 2M out of the luxury tax and still have room under the tax to sign a buyout candidate with the extra roster spot.

PF: ONeale, Portis, Barnes
SF: Vassell, Keldon, NBA Dunk Champion Carter Bryant
SG: Castle, Julian, [open spot]
PG: Fox, Harper, McLovin


Next year's impact: With the ~14th pick added, Spurs next year have 183M under contract with 3 open spots. Tax threshold is expected to be 202M. Add a 2nd rounder (Milan Momcilovic, please) for 2M then two free agent spots and 17M to fill it with the MLE and BAE at our disposal.

Bulls won. Hornets won. Hawks Lost to freaking Indiana.

Hornets now 1.5 games out of the playin. Chicago 1 game above Midlanta.

Hawks in a 3-way tie for the 11th worst record with Clippers (8-2 in last 10 games) and Portland, who has entered the Giannis sweepstakes.

Hawks just 1.5 games from the 10th seed, which is probably their worst possible finish, unless Kyrie comes back and Dallas makes the dumb decision to not tank. 10th seed is about a 15% chance at top 4 and 67% chance at 10th.

Yeah, DJG tore his ACL. I looked it up and Stanley Umude is the 3rd one. He's another Warren HS graduate.

Pretty absurd that the nba set it up for Spurs to play last night in Charlotte and then be back for a 1pm home game today.

And just as absurd that they expect the Spurs to fly back in today and play this evening after a massive travel delay.

This guy is a knock down shooter for the Hawks. .423 this year, .437 last year.

Reath has looked like Bassey - some real flashes of defensive potential... but he is also 29yo and barely ever plays.

They need size, but afraid to make a real trade. I think they got worse here.

EDIT: I just saw Reath had foot surgery and is out for the season. Hilarious.

Man this game bumping back to 8pm sucks. I was planning on taking my daughter to her first spurs game. We originally had tickets to the afternoon Kings game back in November, but my daughter got sick. Then traded Clippers tickets for this game so we could get another kid friendly time. Now the game is moving to 8pm and way too late on a school night for her.

Another reason there should never be a back to back where you have to travel for the second game.
