6/10. Could have been a ton better, but it wasn't as awful as some on this thread are saying.

I could watch a Gal Gadot screensaver though.

Watched it on HBO so I'm glad I wasn't $30 invested.

I'm enjoying the irony that Pedro Pascal is simultaneously starring in both the best show on Disney Plus and the worst movie in theaters/HBO Max. The previous week was the Season 2 finale of The Mandolorian, which is one of the best single episodes of TV I've ever seen, also one of the best things the entire Star Wars universe has produced. Now he's in the worst comic book movie of all time, really putting a bookend on 2020.

Have you seen the last couple X-men? suicide squad? Justice league? That crappy wolverine movie?

This was up there but not THAT bad. DC movies not named Man of Steel or directed by Christopher Nolan are sucking terribly though.

It was ok. I was expecting a lot worse from the comments on this thread, but it's no different than Aquaman for me. Suicide Squad and BvS are a lot worse.

Based on earnings they've dubbed this a success after first weekend, but I don't follow financials or those comparisons like several do on here. I'm not sure if they've lowered their own bar for green lighting another film or what because it would seem to be difficult to baseline this movie against others for obvious reasons.

Also, with the streaming world I'm not sure if general consumer will have true transparency to how see well a film does on the financial front?

Honestly I liked it more because I was streaming it. I wasn't financially invested at all. Nice just to have a chance at a premier offering from home.

You might like to see him in Prospect if you have not already. It's a low budget sci-fi, but it's not bad at all. His character and acting were quite good IMO.

There was nothing wrong with his acting in WW84 either - he did what he was asked to do and sold it well. the character was over the top - he was great at it. None of the blame of WW84 problems goes to Pedro, not to Gal Gadot either. This was a story problem more than anything, and execution of some elements. Director, writer and producers are to blame.

Pedro has been nails in pretty much everything I've ever seen him in.

Mando

GOT - his speech to Tyrion in the cell was perfection and of course his fight against the mountain. Probabaly the best single season character on GOT.

Narcos - he was awesome as real life DEA agent Javier Pena.

Prospect - demonstrates actual character development in a low budget sci fi movie

etc.

The difference is that Batman and Robin didn't pretend to be anything other than a campy hero flick. Also, imagine if it were created right after the Dark Knight. That's what happened to the WW franchise.

I've flown on Fourth of July and landed at night - it's a pretty awesome experience to see fireworks below you, and then see those fireworks at eye level as you descend.

It looked like they were flying a F4 Phantom. Fireworks would do absolutely NOTHING to one of those, assuming even a direct hit.

100% agree, the issues with the film are not on the actors. They have a job to do, and they did it. Pascal, Gadot, Wiig, and Pine none of them were a problem. Pascal is one of those guys I just like in whatever he's in. GOT, Triple Frontier, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Narcos, and Mandolorian, he's fun in all of them.

It still was ****ing terrible. I don't care what it was trying to be. it's still incredibly awful. Trying to be dumb doesn't get you bonus points.

Agreed, but I'm just saying that I don't think it shattered anyone's expectations. If you went to see it, you already knew what to expect. All of the first Batman films were bad if you want to get right down to it.

WW84 was absolutely worse than all of those, IMO.

Agreed. Suicide Squad is close, but Harley was at least a fun character to anchor that mess and therefore wins out.

Some of these other movies mentioned like Batman and Robin, for example, have a good argument though. However, that particular movie is so far gone out of my consciousness I couldn't tell you anything about it. It was so bad at the time I purged it.

Wife and I watched it last night. It was awful. The wife rated it as the worst movie she's ever seen. Her previous worst was Anaconda. The plot was awful. The script was awful. The acting was awful. Its only redeeming feature is the hotness of Gal Gadot.

Anyone that thinks this is a good movie probably thinks Taco Bell has the greatest Mexican food in the world..

I was anxious to watch it for two reasons. First, I thought the first one was fantastic. One of the better one's on this genre.

Second, I had read on here how bad some thought it was and thought there was some folks being overly critical.

Holy Jesus, that was bad! I am not someone that is overly critical of movies. I generally am okay even with bad movies, but this was a joke.

I think, too, it's compounded, for me, because the first one is so good. The huge contrast in quality of the two is pretty sizeable. Wow.

I was thinking about all the plot holes in this movie and one I haven't seen was the gold suit she is wearing at the end. Did it explain how she got it on in the middle of the air on the way to the final battle? Or were we just supposed to infer that she could summon it like Thor when she learned that she could also fly out of nowhere?

I swear, during that horribly-executed highway chase sequence in Egypt or wherever the hell, there was a shot of Diana and Steve in the car, and Diana had on normal clothes, then we got a quick shot of the convoy ahead of them, but then when it went back to Diana and Steve, Diana was suddenly in full WW costume, without explanation. The entire movie still feels like a hallucination, and I may very well have missed something, but yeah, maybe she can just summon a wardrobe change? Who the hell knows.

As for the gold suit, it's just presumed she took the time to go home and get it, lol.
