Havent seen the film and I don't mean to beat a dead horse, but I saw a clip of this movie and I have to ask. Is she still deflecting bullets with her bracers? And am I the only one that still finds that incredibly lame?

Not only from a lore perspective (she's a demigod and is surely bulletproof), but the visual style of it looks so cheesy to me. It'd be like a Jedi deflecting blaster shots not with a skillful maneuver of the lightsaber but only by using his magical belt and pelvic-thrusting every shot back at his opponent.

Could just be me, but it's a nitpick I had in WW1 and I saw a clip where she was still doing it. Curious if I'm alone on this one.

They established that Amazons are not bulletproof in the first movie, when Antiope (Robin Wright) gets shot and killed trying to shield Diana from a soldier aiming at her.

In this movie she deflects a bullet with her lasso, if that's more up your alley.

Agreed. But last weekend, for the most part, we didn't really know it wasn't not good yet, and the numbers were still super low. And regardless of whether it was available at home or not, between this and Tenet's lackluster performance, all studios are going to see are incredibly low blockbuster box office numbers the two times this has been attempted during the pandemic, and will likely push any March/April titles back even more.

Fair. I'd just be really curious what a film with outstanding buzz would do vs something that was pretty universally panned.

If you want to go that route, the times she's deflected bullets were while protecting people (Steve in the first movie, crowd of tourists in JL), or while charging through a battlefield. She hasn't been put in a situation where she's one on one with a gun.

But no I can't think of a time she used her bracelets to block anything other than Cheetah attacking her in WW84.

I would also say that blocking bullets with her bracelets is no different than, say, Iron Man blocking with his armor or Captain America with his shield.

I'm afraid we're never going to get the chance to find out. Feels like No Time to Die, Black Widow, or Top Gun: Maverick would have been the perfect test cases, but anything of that caliber is staying as far away from the pandemic as possible. In fact, at this point, I'm betting the former two move yet again.

He has always looked 20 or 50 to me. Just has that kind of face

I will say this, the amount of movies I had made the time in theaters had been dwindling to single digits over the past 4-5 years. Maybe even sub 5.

Once everything is all good again, I will probably try to see a movie every week.
