Ok enough of a derail, thanks for the replies. In conclusion use GROK because GPT lies.

The first officer on the Air Florida flight 90 mishap was a former fighter pilot named Roger Pettit. I can't check the other chatGPT claims because there aren't flight numbers

and here we go with the stupidity

Because very specifically, since ATC changed the situation from a `routine' setup to a less common approach -- it was now incumbent on them to `up the ante' in a little of the detail about which plane and where to look, etc. The interesting thing about that video is it shows how much a disadvantage such a simple omission put both the crj and the blackhawk. The pilot of the chopper may simply have been looking exactly where they `should' --- because ATC hadn't told them they put the airliner somewhere else. Same for the crj. That change was not trivial -- so things should have become `less routine' by just a degree or two, on ATC's part regarding the instructions with CA alerts flashing.bmks270 said:
Air traffic control knows the routes cross.
They assigned the pilot to the landing runway. They saw the incoming helicopter and failed to give them clear instructions and failed to identify the incoming plane.
I blame them.
"You watch our for that plane" when there are a dozen in the sky and multiple coming and going from the runways is incompetent.

Regardless of the person in office, I would like to think that getting a WH assignment is a pretty big deal.
She's a Captain, so a 1st Lt possibly when she was assigned?
Rejoining the flight line (or whatever it's called) after an administration assignment? Flying to regain/renew qualifications maybe?

Company employee was on the plane, returning home from work rotation.
This has hit me very hard as the reality of you never know what may happen. A very tragic accident.
Saddened by what all these families have to go through and hope they all find peace.

Maybe she got put into her position due to her ties to Biden? Who knows but it's clear she wasn't qualified to be flying that helo that night.

500 hours doesn't seem like enough hours to be flying around dc at night with commercial airliners. I bet the victims families feel the same way.
