I don't want to bump the Paxton-Cornyn thread but wow. What a dishonest fraud we defeated in the primary, Ags/Texans.

This just confirms how much of a liar and fraud Cornyn is. It's telling that the first time he had a worthy opponent he got smoked by over 20 points.

Good riddance.

Just waiting for Cornyn to join his buddy Mitch and begin voting NO on all future renditions of the SAVE act...

Cornyn can feel free to vote liberal openly now, but more than that, he will want to show his disdain for the voters who rejected him. He's always thought he was smarter than his constituents, but he won't hide it now.

He's a piece of ***** He was always a piece of *****

Why congress can't accomplish anything:

Senators can slack for five years and then try hard every sixth year if they think they need to.

Meanwhile, representatives have two year terms with about a 1.5 year campaign cycle so they're always campaigning and never doing real work.

Especially since it was blatant deception. Those who have paid attention have known who Cornyn is for well over a decade. Glad he'll be sitting at home instead of representing his corrupt interests in DC.

Exactly. Almost as pathetic as Chuck Schumer abandoning any semblance of ethics and principle he once had to grovel and excuse actions by Graham Platner and Minnesota Somalians.

But at least Republicans are willing to jettison two-faced liars. Sure wish the Dems would step up rather than doubling down.

Ya that was pretty crazy of him to try and appeal to his party base in a party primary.

Definitely is, when he had years to appeal to them with his policy.

But, but, but he supported President Trump 99% of the time! Guffaw!!!

All of those who believe other Rinos who spout the "supporting President Trump 95+% of the time" garbage, get a clue. Maybe now more people will realize they've been had by these condescending charlatans and vote accordingly next chance they get.

When the whole reason he is facing a strong primary challenger is because he has failed to represent his base for many years, it is pretty transparently disingenuous to suddenly start running commercials pretending to be what the base wants.

New Texas A&M Bush School / Siena Research poll

Tells you all you need to know.

Shift at least 5-7 percentage points to the Republican candidates total and it might be close to the final results in November.

Almost 70% of the poll respondents were from Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, or Houston. That's why Texas is notoriously hard to to poll and always underestimates GOP strength.

I'm currently out near Odessa. I bet if I polled the 50 people in the room with me, there wouldn't be 10 people who favor Talarico.

A&M has been doing polling/surveys for 30+ years at least.

Odessa/Midland is counted as "rural" as part of that poll. Same for places like Lubbock, Abilene, Tyler, San Angelo, Amarillo, etc.

It's the same crowd that was telling everyone to vote for Cornyn because he was the only candidate that could beat Talarico in November. They desperately want to be proven correct.

As was said by a poster on another thread, they don't like losing and they believe that Republican primary voters need to be disciplined and put in their place.

And something that always stands out to me in "polls" like this - the use of the category "No Degree" or similar always favors the R candidate. Every freaking time. They are telling everyone exactly what they think of people who don't vote per their wishes, and at least for me, they can go touch grass.

paxton underperforming the other top-of-ballot republicans is the takeaway here. maybe if republicans keep calling talarico a gay vegan beta heretic even harder, enough people will forget no one is excited about paxton.

It probably was before Trump endorsed Paxton. My in-laws were going to vote for Cornyn until Trump endorsed him. They worship Trump like he is the 2nd coming. If Trump came out today and said vote for the freak they would and a lot of Trump supporters would.

So Democrats don't vote for candidates endorsed by Obama?
And Trump is the second coming of Reagan. And the best president this side of the 2000s So I can see why they would consider his endorsement. Good for them.

I live in Frisco and voted in the mayoral runoff. The candidate whose signs you see the most is Mark Hill. Googled him and the other candidate Rod-something and looked up what is different about their platforms.

Hill is an ISD school board member standing on a half ass tagline "unite Frisco" with zero concerns about the Indian and Muslim takeover.

Rod is a country boy construction business owner who is respectful but not on board with mosques popping up everywhere. I voted for Rod, never would ever believe a school board shmuck could ever run a city of this size and growth.

Then on my walk through old town last night I see a house with an Aggie flag, a Mark Hill sign, and a "Talarico for Texas" sign.

I made the right choice. And am embarrassed about those Ags.
