I live in Frisco and voted in the mayoral runoff. The candidate whose signs you see the most is Mark Hill. Googled him and the other candidate Rod-something and looked up what is different about their platforms.

Hill is an ISD school board member standing on a half ass tagline "unite Frisco" with zero concerns about the Indian and Muslim takeover.

Rod is a country boy construction business owner who is respectful but not on board with mosques popping up everywhere. I voted for Rod, never would ever believe a school board shmuck could ever run a city of this size and growth.

Then on my walk through old town last night I see a house with an Aggie flag, a Mark Hill sign, and a "Talarico for Texas" sign.

I made the right choice. And am embarrassed about those Ags.

That was probably Aggie97's in-laws house.

Another poll out today. It also shows Paxton running behind all other Republicans. I have to think Talarico is at his high mark and the race will look like the others once Republican and Independents that were supporting Cornyn and/or think Paxton is a POS learn more about Talarico.

Abbott is going to beat Hinojosa by double digits just like he has every other dem he has faced. If Beta couldn't get within 10 pts, no chance Hinojosa does it. Scale the rest from there.

If Trump doesn't wrap-up the Iran war satisfactorily and gas prices don't come down, there will be a definite lack of enthusiasm among Republican voters which will give Talerico a better than sluggers chance.

The Democrats ensured heavy Republican turnout simply by electing Talarico as their nominee. I know a ton of folks that are already chomping at the bit to go vote against him. He's about as bad a choice as the Democrats could have made.

If democrats hadn't turned into the party of freaks then Paxton was a good opportunity.

But they nominate the absolute worst people in the country.

Only mental midgets that vote D without even caring who they voted for will choose Talarico.

But, "average" intelligence is still a ****ing moron.

It'll be a 15-20 point win. It won't be close.

It won't be 15-20 points.

Talarico has a base of about 40-43% Normally the Republican base would be 50%, but Paxton will lose some Republican voters (stay home, skip, vote 3rd party) along with some independents who usually vote Republican.

Given how bad Republicans are doing right now across the country, it will be a lot closer than you think. Safe seats are no longer considered safe, and possible pickups are pretty much being written off.

Heck, Ohio has shown a 20 point swing from 2024, in favor of the Democrats. Part of that is Vivek dragging down the ticket, but Trump is a drag as long as inflation keeps going up as fast as it is.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Some Dems will stay home too. Yes there are people who would vote for an imbecile as long as they have a D or R next to their name. But once all the oppo research comes out on Talarico, it will cause somewhere around 2-4% of Dems to stay home. I agree it will be close but the backlash against Paxton will be mitigated somewhat by the fact Talarico will lose moderate Dems.

I would like a double-digit win, but I think Paxton will win by 3-5 points. It will definitely be closer than the Abbott vs Hinojosa gubernatorial election.

What do you think is going to make any Dem voters stay home and not vote for Talarico?

I think this race will be interesting because a lot of the Cornyn votes were pretty strong anti-Paxton votes. And I think Talarico is going to be boring and bland enough that he's not going to turnoff those voters that much.

You're supposed to ignore how bat chit crazy tallrico is. If you don't keep calling out how ludicrous his takes are and how weird he is, then you're well past character assassination at this point, you're swan diving straight into talarico derangement syndrome.

That's the socialist response to how messed up tularco is? Not to defend the nut bar they're going to vote for, but accuse those who point out how crazy and weird the guy is of having telliricco derangement syndrome?

So be it.

New Texas A&M Bush School / Siena Research poll

Tells you all you need to know.

Shift at least 5-7 percentage points to the Republican candidates total and it might be close to the final results in November.

Almost 70% of the poll respondents were from Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, or Houston. That's why Texas is notoriously hard to to poll and always underestimates GOP strength.

Better said as:

Cowboys, cattlemen, and oilmen are too busy working to waste time on the phone with pantywaste pollsters.

And something that always stands out to me in "polls" like this - the use of the category "No Degree" or similar always favors the R candidate. Every freaking time. They are telling everyone exactly what they think of people who don't vote per their wishes, and at least for me, they can go touch grass.

In my circles, touching grass is something most men aspire to do. Daily.

How about even money bet? Paxton is going to smoke that fake vegan Low T child mutilator. Every poll favoring Talarico is going to tank once his fake Christian drivel starts going viral to a broader audience.

The future of the GOP is going to be largely populist, at least publicly. The defense guys and the pharma guys will still get theirs behind the curtain, but the GOP is the only party that is positioned to champion the hard working, patriotic, 40-hour-week worker.

And:
1) There are a **** ton of them.
2) They vote.

This is wishful thinking.

You haven't seen these?

* God has seven genders?
* Low T's favorite love is transgender children?
* A vegan that eats BBQ?
* The only girlfriends he has were members of his staff?

Talarico is the type of guy to video himself receiving gay sex on the floor of the Texas senate and send it out "anonymously" on onlyfans.

He is about as bland as an Iranian character on Southpark.

Cornyn becoming a full-blown TDS-ed Dem senator for 6 months will be enough to confirm victory for Paxton.

Talarico is more Cornyn but with additional genders, clammier hands, poorer taste in BBQ and a D by his name (and in other areas of his life - even if he won't admit it).
