OK, this bull**** about the sex offender needs stop now. I'm not a Paxton fan, but this is enough. He didn't let a sex offender off.

For the record:

Anyone calling Ken Paxton a "pedo protector" is lying and weaponizing a young boy's s*xual abuse to advance their politics.

Here are the facts:

-In June 2025, Adam Hoffman was on trial for continuous s*x abuse of a child. OAG had 2 experienced prosecutors on the case.

-This young child courageously testified to the horrific things that were done to him, which was severely traumatic for him.

-The trial ended up in a hung jury, with 7 voting to convict and 5 voting not to.

-The OAG prosecutors sought a retrial, wanting justice for the victim.

-Understandably, the victim & his mother did not wish to endure the traumatic experience of testifying again.

-The prosecution could have either: legally forced the family to comply in a new trial, which would be heartless, or seek as severe a punishment as they could without their key witness, which included jail time.

-They did what was in the best interest of the child.

Anyone trying to use this story against KEN PAXTON himself is simply using a young child's abuse and trauma for political gain, and THAT is DISGUSTING.

Is this an actual question? No my wife has never forced me on a fad diet. But I'm not a panty waisted limp wristed beta and she doesn't fall for whatever trendy crap comes out on facebook so we work well together. Pretty telling who wears the pants in the liberal male's house though.

Yeah, about that. Are you concerned at all that the party this individual is aligned with has floated concepts of "carbon footprint", "environmental impact", and "animal welfare" in conversations seeking reductions of meat consumption in the recent past?

What do you think could result legislatively with a strong Democrat legislative majority? It seems to me that it's entirely possible that legal options of what to eat could easily change, and not for the better.

Running for office in this district requires a certain set of campaign talking points.

Running for office for the entire state requires a different set of talking points.

The Dems really have never figured out how to take a popular small footprint candidate and lead a winning statewide campaign.

Until they find a better alignment between the two campaign types, they will continue to lose statewide in Texas.

Very true.

The left will go all in to make sure they get their base out, but then they do NOTHING AT ALL to even try to get the independents and moderates to come over, even if for just one election. They expect people to see how "good and virtuous" their side is, and how whatever the other side is, and that's enough.

Now, with Paxton having the plea deal to the sex offender who got one day in jail instead of a possible 20 years, the left will hit with that until the cows come home. Not because they think maga, or even conservatives to the left of them, would find that something to cause them to vote for Talarico, but if it can persuade enough of them, plus independents and moderates who usually vote GOP to just stay home, that might be enough for an upset.

I don't think this has legs, but who knows.

One of the reasons the Democratic establishment is so wowed with Talarico is that he speaks about religion while most of them are irreligious and/or agnostic. They don't understand anyone who is religious because to them it is all nonsense anyway, so they misread how his talking about his religious views will generally be received. In their mind it's all the same and that audience is already somewhat weak minded, so they'll just move over.

If Talarico makes a major move it's going to be because the economy is sucking or Paxton's baggage sinks him. His religious opinion is generally not going to move the devout.
