Trump actually has done stuff with his life. Talarico got chased out of the classroom. Can you imagine being such a ***** you can't handle being a teacher. He may not be gay but he has zero resiliency
Most posters on here have a low opinion of teachers and wouldn't want to work with them. Could be that he gave it a try for a couple of years and decided it wasn't for him either. I remember reading an article 10 years ago that said that around 50% of new teachers will leave the profession completely before the five year mark of their career. It wouldn't shock me to find out that percentage is higher today.
A friend of mine from college had worked in the telecom industry until the big telecom bust. After he was laid off, he decided he was going to pursue a quality of life job. He thought teaching would be great because he'd have more time to be around his kids, get more vacation time, etc. His wife had a high paying job in a Big 4 accounting firm and so they would be able to swing him having a lower salary teaching job. He only lasted one year as a teacher. He said he had no idea all of the sheet that came with being a teacher- discipline problems that he was not able to handle as he saw fit, absentee parents, sheety parents, unsupportive principal who refused to handle discipline issues at the school because he didn't want to have to deal with the parents.
My kids have attended both private and public schools and have always had great teachers. I think the difference of one's experience being a teacher depends on where they work. Teachers in small towns and suburbs have a very different experience than teachers who work in inner city schools.
