It took a long time, but the vacancy at the old Neighborhood Walmart at 1907 Texas Avenue has a tenant.

a gym called Club 4 Fitness.

It should help bring that strip center back to life a little bit.

Surely no one drives "to" a Buccees. They only drive by one in transit to somewhere else and stop, right?

If anyone is driving to Buccees as a destination, that would be fascinating and worrisome at the same time.

I know quite a few people that do. Especially in Dallas area driving to Terrell and Ennis locations.

My father in law drives from Waxahachie to Ennis to fill up. Not sure if he does it every time, but it's a thing.

Might be that he just wants out of the house too?

A friend drives to Bucees in Hillsboro for ethanol free gas. More about the gas than the store, but still. I also know a couple of people that routinely take a 15 minute detour on the way home from work so they can stop at the Bucees in Madisonville.

My dad lives at Canyon Lake and drives to the Bucee's in New Braunfels once a week to gas up the truck and have a chicken salad sandwich. He may go more than once a week for the chicken salad sandwich.

Oh yes they do. My college aged kids have done it on multiple occasions. Saturday afternoon road trip to Buccees just because. Grab some merch and snacks and snap a selfie with the beaver statue. It's a thing.

Heck, high school bands will go out of there way to hit a Buccees on road trips. (The fact that it is the perfect place to get 200 kids off and back on the bus in 20 minutes with bathroom breaks and snacks is the obvious reason but trust me, kids love Buccees stops.)

Indeed it has. And fears confirmed lol. I do like to stop at Buc-ee's from time to time, but that's where it ends of course.

I absolutely do, regularly. We'll just hop in the car, head to either of the two within an hour away, load up, come home

I was at the Arizona Diamondbacks game yesterday. 2 young guys in front of me were wearing Buccees t-shirts. I asked them about it and both were from Philadelphia and incoming freshmen at Arizona State. They got the shirts while driving west to start school. There's one under construction in the Phoenix area and I'll be taking my friends there when it opens.

Downtown Bryan has big dreams. The parking lot project has already started pulling permits. Next would be a mixed use project (retail, apartments, some office) and a hotel. Lastly a condo and small symphony hall.
