Starting to register 12-16 year olds in Dallas. Our oldest is now on the list.
This is a cool chart that shows that 12-16 year olds have a <0.1% chance of death and a .6% chance of hospitalization, assuming they even contract it.Ol Jock 99 said:

How is your oldest at enough risk to justify that? I mean, he has a greater risk of death and likely hospitalization from the drive to the appointment. Seriously.Ol Jock 99 said:

How does getting a zero-risk adolescent vaccinated ahead of older, more at-risk individuals promote the common good?

Working towards herd immunity, getting the world and economy back on track, caring for the vulnerable in our lives, stopping future variance, which might not be so nice to kids, before they start. You know, common good stuff.

The American Academy of Pediatrics does recommend the vaccine for 16 and up and is encouraging further testing for younger children. Our sons (14, 14, & 12) will get vaccinated as soon as it's available to them (wife has been a pediatric nurse for 20+ years).

Wow, y'all are bringing up some really interesting points. I'm not sure how many are factually accurate, but I'm certain they're morally correct. I'll have to discuss them with a trained, boarded, and licensed physician.

I didn't realize this was also a (D) voter registration drive. A guy I work with went through the Fair Park site this morning and they have people out there trying to register people to vote while waiting for their shot.
It's exactly their target market...TxAgLaw03RW said:

Dallas County voter registration ended 01 April, 12 days ago. So that's strange they are registering voters now.

If you want more people to vote, you are likely a Dem but only because Rs strategy going forward appears to be to disenfranchise as many as possible
