In my 45 years of watching soccer, I've never seen the ridiculousness (tantrum) displayed by the Cameroon team!!
Especially at a World Cup!! I hope England scores 10 more goals on them!!

*as I type this one of the Cameroon players pushes the ref from behind pretty harshly, lol.....unreal!

how do they select officials for the matches? There have been several that are way out of there league. Like rec level bad....

The process is long, technical and political. You can't have 24 refs from UEFA where all the better refs are from working the highest games. So you get some from areas without a lot of high level competition. And the assignments are politics. This was a UEFA team versus an African Confed. team. So the crew had to be neutral. And games in the knockouts are based on performance in the group stage.

They missed VC at 2". They missed the spitting. The fast OS flag that was wrong on the second goal. The **** show before halftime. The VAR call ruling out the Cameroon goal (that was technically right and really not that close but would have looked so much better if the ref had looked at the monitor). The insane 7 minutes of stoppage with the likely SFP red card they didn't give. It was a tough game to handle and the crew failed. They won't get another game.

Politics is big. For example, an English ref cannot do any match with Argentina and and Argentina ref cannot do England. And you cannot assign a ref where their own team may be involved later. In the FRA-BRA match no US or Spanish ref would be allowed. Given the dearth of really good refs and with so many UEFA teams still playtime, you will get some UEFA refs breaking neutrality.

Ths Chinese ref had a relatively clean game in the groups. The totally clueless (Ri for one, and frankly the African Confed ones) were weeded out. But clueless is relative.

I have no clue why thats rules out. Its not a foul and its not possession. The new Law says it can't hit your arm and result in a goal. It did do that. Maybe thats it.
