I get both sides of the scheduling argument, but it's been much more than Rapinoe who have questioned it.

If the media wrote the headline "Some questioning whether CGC Final takes spotlight from WWC" nobody would click. If someone sticks a microphone in Rapinoe's face and gets a quote and writes the headline as "Rapinoe furious about CGC Final stealing attention from women's game" people will click.

I really wish she would say "we are just focused on beating Netherlands" and leave it at that. It's funny to me that she is much like her mortal enemy Trump in that she just can't help herself from commenting on every issue. Games being played in a different continent at a different time is such a non-issue.

Seriously all she said was "It's ridiculous, and disappointing, to be honest."

Just because every major news outlet picked up the AP article and applied their own outrageous headline, it seems like she's seething. It's not like she went on an unprompted twitter rant... she honestly answered a question that was directly asked of her.

Any thoughts on today's 3rd place match?

Sweden looked pretty fatigued against the Netherlands and assuming Asllani is out, I don't see them having enough attack to really pressure Lucy Bronze & co (even without Bright in the center).

My guess: England comes out with something to prove & White takes the lead for the Golden Boot. Lionesses win 3-1.

Rapinoe doesn't impulsively get on twitter and give an opinion about something she's not involved in and no one ask her about.

You want her to coach speak out of answering? That's fine, I won't argue about it.

But most of these "Rapinoe can't be quiet" situations are, in actuality, 5 second situations where she's asked a direct question about the team she captains, answers it (albeit strongly) and then it's over.

I think people, and I'm not accusing anyone on this board of that (see more the politics board), who sit around and wallow about Rapinoe project unto Rapinoe that she sits around and wallows.

When in fact, the impression I get is that that's pretty far from the truth.

Whoa!! Asllani in the starting lineup. I know they said it wasn't serious but that seems pretty surprising.



I also think Kirby back in the starting lineup makes sense. I didn't think Daly getting the start vs the US was the best choice.

Update: this is absolutely shocking. Not sure if England D really was that reliant on Bright or if they just forgot to get off the bus. Completely outclassed right now. 2-0 Swedes.

In all seriousness, I think this board/thread has done a pretty good job of being kind & humorous knowing there's a lot of differing & divisive opinions among us. I expected so, so much worse and I'm glad to have been proved wrong.

It's been fun sharing this WWC with everyone. Can't believe there's only 1 match left!! #tourdefour

This board is actually my favorite on the internet (not that I go to a lot). We disagree sometimes but everyone respects each other's opinion.

Is a fun place to discuss the great game, many of us have been around for many years.

Feel free to come back and enjoy more of the great game with us. About the only time this board is not tolerable is during the men's WC when it gets invaded by the once every four years fans.

Good to have differing views on here, enjoyed your perspective if I don't always agree with it.
