The standard for GKs on their line has changed dramatically. One step has now turned to nothing and any encroachment is a card. Its happening un the U-20s and now here. GK's everywhere better look out.

VAR seems like it's really been a borderline disaster so far in the group stage. Not so much incorrect calls by the letter of the law but just completely killing momentum and flow of all these games.

Italian defender rolling around on the ground until she realized the goalie was also on the ground and hopped right up so she wouldnt receive treatment and have to come off

That's a little hard on the Jamaicans again. Ref stopped play after an Italian player took out her own goalie and Jamaica had the ball with a semi-empty net.

There may have been a foul in there be she didn't call it so play on.

Italian player took a high kick to the face. Jamaican player was given a yellow, but could have easily been a straight red.

I know the game's out of hand, but Italy turning the ball over and allowing Jamaica to connect so many passes in their half is a bit surprising.

I won't encourage unseemingly behavior but I will note that she plays college ball in the US if you want to catch some Colonial Athletic Association soccer this fall.

I was in the room here one day... watchin' the Mexican channel on TV. I don't know nothin' about Pele. I'm watchin' what this guy can do with a ball and his feet. Next thing I know, he jumps in the air and flips into a somersault and kicks the ball in - upside down and backwards... the dang (sc) goalie never knew what the hell hit him. Pele gets excited and he rips off his jersey and starts running around the stadium waving it around his head. Everybody's screaming in Spanish. I'

Match #3 games in group are played simultaneously to prevent collusion/ensure fair play for those teams not yet qualified for R16. So you can only have 2 or 4 matches per night starting Monday...no odd numbers

After that game the team went on strike until some demands were met and as soon as they were the team reconvened and improved.

I'm okay with checking for penalties. Just use common sense in a match that's already 4-1, at 92:59.
