I won't deny that our season has been a disaster. i give us about a 30-40 percent chance of even making the playoffs.
That said, I am not ready to write off next year. If the Lakers can make the right tweaks to the roster this offseason and go into next season healthy, they can make a run. Even at 36 Kobe will be a top 10 NBA player. A healthy Dwight is the most dominant big man in the league.
As far as D'Antoni goes, I expect him to coach next season. The Lakers have been eat up with injuries all season. Unless there is a total meltdown down the stretch or Dwight makes an issue of it, D'Antoni will be back.
That is disappointing because I hate his system, even when well executed. I still wish we would've hired Brian Shaw when Phil retired and would still love to see him come back.

If an Agent negotiates a contract for $60mm in LA, maybe the client takes home 35mm. And a contract for $58mm in Houston, maybe he takes home 37mm. Slight difference. But the agent takes home 3,000,000 for 60mm in LA and 2,900,000 for Houston.

reports coming out that the Rockets are looking at two different trades for Marcus Morris. Its like I said earlier, Morey never fails to do a deal that no one is thinking about.

That's a nice pickup for Houston.
(1) The Houston Rockets have traded Marcus Morris to the Phoenix Suns for a future second-round draft pick.
(2) The Rockets will send Patrick Patterson, Cole Aldrich and Toney Douglas to the Kings for Thomas Robinson.
(3) Along with a second-round pick, the Kings will send Francisco Garcia and Tyler Honeycutt to the Rockets
(4) Kings send T. Robinson, F. Garcia, T. Honeycutt to Houston for Toney Douglas, Cole Aldrich, Patrick Patterson & cash

Morris for a second rounder is puzzling to me. He turned into a decent role player.

Dont like it at all. I was a big fan of t-rob, but his percentages are horrid and we don't have much of a sample size. I trust that we pursued j-Smoove using patterson and failed, but still. He better produce.
So the Morris twins are reunited?
JJ Hickson was awful in Sacramento last year as well and now he's beastin in Portland. I think Robinson can be a good player.
Glad to be done with morris.

This because Aldrich and douglas were not assets. ATL may want more picks which explains Morris deal
Isn't this what the rockets wanted do during the draft? So after waiting until February, we got Harden and Robinson for Kevin Martin, patterson, morris and some meh draft picks

Dan Scott - thats exactly what I was thinking. He gets his #5 pick in the end along with Harden. All the while leaving open the ability to sign a BIG free agent. Morey has style.
Glad Morris is gone. Hate to lose Patterson but Terrence Jones is showing a lot of promise.
