Yes, I think Luke Evangelist or somebody else said it, but Henry Coleman might not have been the top player on the team, but he was always the best representative and just a great Aggie, not afraid of being committed to a place.

The fact that someone would leave Texas A&M for a job at ****ing Maryland speaks VOLUMES to the climate within our athletic departments leadership.

Yes, he knew if he didnt make it out of the first weekend next year he'd likely be fired. And he asked for a raise and extension (job security) and we refused, given his crappy results in the tourney.

It says there was actually going to be some expectation to deliver on something besides number of books read and thank you notes written.

He burned some bridges the past season over who he fought for NIL bucks for, despite their poor play on the court.

He burned bridges in terms of fighting with football or baseball for resources? Or by giving resources to certain players that the athletic department did not agree?
Encouraging donors contributing to NIL to fund inferior players when they were questioning the investment given said players' play on the court.

"Oh he's totally going to have a break out this season, promise!"

I would like more elaboration on this! Which guys?

I'm actually encouraged if our NIL guys are smart enough to pushback a bit on that- if Buzz did want it given to our mediocre returning guys..

Right on cue, Henry was sitting in one of the front rows at Bucky's intro speech today. Guy just loves A&M.

Buzz didnt even utilize all of his Nil money and he never supported the school it was always his brand. Im glad hes gone and he did us a solid the way he left saving us money. He knew he was gonna get canned after next year he has been actively looking for a new job.

Depends on what "kill it" means.

My prediction is he would never sniff a Final Four at Maryland (much like Turgeon). Expectations at Maryland will actually be to make Final Fours. And he will end up being fired.
Maryland has made exactly two final 4's in their 120 year basketball history. What makes you think this is the expectation?

Have you ever talked to a Maryland fan? Nobody is going to argue that FF's are a reasonable expectation, but that IS their expectation.

So "fans" are firing coaches over there now?

Fair enough. What else have your contacts in the Maryland AD been telling you?

Absolutely correct! They believe every coach coming in is Gary Williams reincarnated. Seeing how Gary is still alive, no coach lives up to it.

Buzz will do very well there. He will win 20 to 25 regular season games a year. He will compete for a few Big 10 titles. The tournament is a crapshoot. Who knows unless you are a one seed and sometimes that doesn't even pan out.

But believe me, the Baltimore and DC sports journalists are very well tied in and know when a coach is looking around. They will skewer him like they have Williard.

Hell, yesterday I was listening to one say, yeah, he wins, but he has never been anywhere for longer than 6 years. He is not going to be here long term.

That's a reflection of his ego and is inexcusable/pathetic.

Ironically, he betrayed his current players by not putting the very best team he could (assuming the NIL info is true).

A&M needed about 1 more true stud transfer portal from being a major contender. Then he could have easily kept Hef and Jace on the bench where they should be.

Because unlike A&M fans, Maryland fans have extremely high expectations. They aren't going to be a big fan of the absurd postseason doesn't matter schtick.

Maryland was a major power when Lefty Driesell was the HC. However a lot of you weren't thought of back then. In fact neither were your parents.

Has it been reported what Buzz's annual salary will be?

I haven't been able to find it online
