It is April 1st....but prob the worst kept secret if this is done (don't think Buzz ever hit the recruiting trail, but to UM to talk and house hunt).

Anyways, partially obvious as he hadn't made any inroads with transfer players, wasn't getting any interest from top 30 players in the portal, etc., but do get our NIL algebra doesn't afford much to retool.

Expect him to poach what talent we have remaining (kids always seem loyal to a coach, not a program nor university).

That seems like a whole lot more than Trev is willing to swallow. Too many other good options out there for substantially less.

I disagree, Buzz was a perfect fit for A&M but in the end the best fit is the one who wins the most in March. I can't believe Beard is a real target but if he is we shouldn't think twice about making it happen.

I feel this way even knowing his prior domestic issues, just like in real life, how long are you supposed to pay for your sins?

Beard did a party damn good job at Ole Piss. They were 3-15 in conference the year before he got there.

And, it's Ole Miss. 2nd-3rd tier SEC athletic program.

3.5 million buyout and he's making $5 mil currently. Why does is seem like a whole lot more than Trev is willing to swallow? Yes Trev is cutting some fat and being smart about spending money but basketball can make you money and Trev knows that.

It was frustrating how Buzz Williams failed to make even one Sweet 16 in his 6-year tenure, but he had been solid during his 6-year tenure. I was hoping Buzz Williams would stay and recruit players, who can make a high-percentage of free throws and 3-points or find them in the portal, but his departure for the Maryland might be a blessing in disguise. Hopefully, we hire a good coach that is committed to staying here for the long term.
