Great ending to a great season. Yes it may not have been as tight and yes White might be more into himself than he ever has been (stories about cast experiences there + the music guy + more may confirm it) but who the **** cares. He gets to be because he's earned it and I think he's also very in tune with what most people actually enjoy about the show and leaning into that more with each season. I don't need Don and Betty Draper arcs with an anthology. We're following people in the 1% during a week of their lives when they are maximizing their wealth and privilege and seeing how it blends with regular folk in beautiful exotic locations. I know damn well what I'm getting into.

As for Sepinwall, agree with everything already said. Dude gets off to the smell of his own ****s and he can't just relax his shoulders and have a good time. Which is exactly what the White Lotus is.

He is a psychopath
The term we use for him is diabolical, and I told yall he would go to rehab for like 3 months after this, which is quite likely the bed he did this interview from.

I think it's all on the thread, but his composer is done with him apparently after this season, Jason Isaacs said friendships were gained and lost during their time there, Goggins was more political about it but alluded the duration of the stay and conditions that made things challenging.

rumors that Goggins also apparently cheated with aimee lou wood while shooting. Maybe hot garbage, but definitely some weird vibes from that set

It could very well be false. Have just seen some stuff.

I wouldn't believe a word of that. Goggins comes across as a very happily married man, and posted a big, heartfelt, multi-image tribute on Instagram last night to Rick and Chelsea. No way he does that if he cheated on his wife with Amy Lou Wood and has any intention of staying married.

Agree on any thought of infidelity.

Good. He's the best actor of the decade so far for me

Here's the thing (well probably 7 things).

- would I believe anything that was said took place on this set? YES.
-would I disbelieve anything that was said to have taken place on this set? ALSO YES.
-These " characters" were on a 7 day vacation, and literally everyone is saying it took 6 MONTHS to shoot. Like not one single person has said they were there shooting for less than that.
-I really don't believe anything that comes out of any of these people's mouths, as this was one of the CRAZIEST press tours I've ever seen from a show of this stature.
-Is this why they can get Oscar award winners to show up for scale? UM, YES
-Do I believe anyone's IG photos or press has been anything other than VERY carefully coordinated? I do not.
-And do I believe that any set can exist for 6 months with these type of people, and all the wild intimacy actively discussed, without some sht going down? Um no.

Trust everything and believe nothing.

This show delivered yet again. Absolutely a masterpiece in story telling and engagement. Season 4 already can't get here soon enough.

Loved how everything concluded, felt satisfying. The parts I thought were playing a bigger role bit didn't (the monkeys of course, Bibb/Parker Posie history, russian girlfriends)

This. Same with Greg.

Also, how on earth did it take six months to shoot? Is it something logistical with the resort they were at still being open to the public? Seems like they could totally close the resort and shoot everything they need in a few weeks to a month.

I'm assuming that part of the world would have a cyclone or monsoon season, and I didn't see one episode with rain, but maybe I'm misremembering

I support Mike White. I like my show runners to have some diva in them - makes it more fun to follow along. On a scale of 0 to Nic Pizzolato he's doing just fine.

The press tour on this is unlike anything I've seen (TV wise) since probably LOST.

*Incredibly* carefully coordinated.

And they probably actually loved this little curveball.

You take the day off or film your cover set if you have any left. I think it rained once during the first of two movies I produced back to back in Fiji. We shot a half day as we were moving very quickly on that show and we knew we could pick it up the next day.

The second movie it rained like crazy. Right before we began principal photography a typhoon rolled in. Within 24 hours all of the top surfers in the world had flown in to Nadi to surf the giant waves it kicked up. Day one we put all cast, crew and equipment on long boats and went up to film by a waterfall. We got loaded in and were ready to film before shooting call but just as we were going to start it began raining. We just had to wait it out fir a couple hours.

I think in L.A., I only had rain on set one day out of the 8 years I filmed there.

We need a behind-the-scenes, making-of doc stat. Sounds like it would be just as juicy as the show itself, if not more so...

Quote:

Jason Isaacs on his experience filming 'THE WHITE LOTUS'

"It was a theatre camp, but to some extent an open prison camp: you couldn't avoid one other. There are tensions and difficulties, I don't know if they spilled from on screen to off-screen, or if it would have happened anyway. There were alliances that formed and broke, romances that formed and broke, friendships that formed and broke. It's a long period of time for people to be away from their family with an open bar and all the wildness being in Thailand allows.

I can't pretend I wasn't involved in some off-screen drama... there were times when things were not quite so fond. I was in some ways used to it, but within a couple of weeks my wife [who was with him on set and used to be an actor] went, 'Some of these people are ****ing mad.' I said, 'No, it's just a bunch of actors away on location, love. You've forgotten what it's like.'"

Actors predominately are emotional basket cases.

Being in touch and feeling feelings allows them to be able to act.

But it's not good when they have to be themselves.
