The trailers, though? Yes, once again, I find them underwhelming as well. But not remotely to the point where I think the movie will be "bad." It's just obvious to me that Nolen is purposefully holding a **** ton back.
And I *am* a simp-hard for Nolan due to his track record. But Hollywood? Not so much. There's a difference.

Having an opinion about a movie is a very different thing than spewing one's ideology and culture war bull**** all over this board. I've always welcomed the former, I've always despised the latter, and I've been very consistent about that.
Youtube comments have bots just like other forms of social media and internet sites/forums with high traffic flows. They have considered hiding likes/dislikes and views from being displayed

The same could be said going the other direction. Once you start to focus on woke virtue signaling, you just see it everywhere even if it's not really what's going on. Like when people learn about a new personality test or some new diagnosis…suddenly everyone has it.
It just seems like your are blaming everything you don't like or that doesn't work for you on an agenda against you, when it can just be that you don't like it or it doesn't work for you. Then it doesn't matter if it makes money or not, because the movie isn't out to get you personally so you don't have to make a crusade against it.
And that's all beside the point. Even if it is everywhere and it's personally attacking all of us in every film, make a thread about it and put your preaching about it there. This thread can be about this specific movie, what's working or not, and doesn't have to be about how Hollywood is hating us.

I have thought about this as a compromise to having every thread devolve into this discussion....a thread pinned to the top that's devoted to discussing political and social ideology in entertainment. As a "rule" enforced by staff, the intense back-and-forth about general "Hollywood woke agendas", etc. stays contained to that thread.

Our theatre in Georgetown is a Schulman, in the "Film Alley" branch of the company. We don't go much but it's great. Wife and I saw Toy Story 5 there last week. The food is actually good. It has a huge arcade and I think five or so bowling lanes.
It was City Lights before that. Looking at their website, it appears there are still a total of six locations. But I didn't see a location still owned by the Schulman's in Bryan.

It closed in 2002, it's now part of Blinn's campus. I went to see a couple of really terrible movies there in the 90s - the sequel to Pet Sematary and Needful Things. The theater was already run down by then and full of some colorful people both times - the smell of marijuana was just part of the ambiance. I just thought it would be funny to offer because this thread has otherwise turned into one of the most petty and lame of all time on TexAgs F13, and that is truly saying a lot.
I need the Watcher and Dr. Strange from Marvel's "What If" to enclose a few posters in the pocket universe for the rest of time so the rest of us can go on with discussing the actual movie when it comes out.

I'm fine with the back and forth arguments on generic culture ware stuff not being part of the topic and being removed. Silencing a big subset of this forum simply because their opinions upset a few people is stupid.

Well, I guess this explains your opinion and sheds light on your worldview. You do realize that the rest of Hollywood is already on Step 3: "It exists and it's a good thing." Only you and TCTTS are still stuck in Step 2: "It exists, but it's rare/minor/not significant"
