I'm looking forward to seeing the young guys Anderson, Neal and Leonard. I also think TJ Ford is going to be the best backup PG this team has had in years.
I really, really wish they would have found a way to acquire a young, athletic big man. I almost yearn for Ian Mahimi.

The Spurs only chance is for Bonner to average less than 12 minutes per game after the halfway point in the season.
I'm hopeful. Timmy and Manu are in great shape, albeit still old.

I personally don't see anyone beating the Heat. But I think it's kinda funny that the Spurs have been discarded from the Western discussion. They did have the best record in the West last year. And I believe the Mavs and Lakers got worse along with the Grizz due to Arthurs injury. That leaves OKC as the favorites and maybe now the Clips. Do the Spurs REALLY have no shot here?

Our defense looked great tonight. As raw as Kawhi is offensively, the guy is a beast on defense. He's exactly what the Spurs need. And Splitter played excellent defense tonight as well.

Splitter was amazing on defense last night, especially when matched up with Randolph. It makes you wonder why he didn't play more last year in the playoff series.
I heard a couple of prognosticators predict a deep run for Memphis but I think they'll miss Arthur and Battier too much. That front line is huge but they're not very deep. We'll see.

I don't think the spurs have the horses to even compete for the championship, but they ought to win 40-45 (better than .600). That means a few months of entertaining basketball. Won't be as fun as the '00 decade, but whatever.

I've never been impressed with TJ Ford, but he looked really effective tonight. He should have had at least 3 more assists than he did (other guys missed 4-5 wide open shots and a layup).
If he can play like that even half the time, the Spurs might have their best true PG backup since Speedy Claxton.
Between his passing and Leonard's size / versatility, it looks like the Spurs knew what they were doing this summer. Except for keeping Bonner, that is. Someone needs to tell Matt that its not April and that he can stop sucking now.
