Simple is hands down the biggest ***** on TA. I have no idea why he hasn't gotten the permaban.

Back to the Spurs, it's going to be interesting to see the rotation Pop uses during the playoffs. I expect things to change from matchup to matchup, given our depth and options, but I am a bit worried about some of our role players shrinking in the moment. In my opinion, that is the Spurs biggest question mark as the playoffs start.

Well, I think it is safe to say the Spurs will continue their streak of 50 win seasons. I just read this on ESiPN:

May already be mentioned in the last two pages, but Spurs-Jazz is set for Sunday.

The only other game that has been set is Pacers-Magic, which is set for Saturday.

rotation will depend on the matchups, but I could see pop going 9 deep and not lose much production on the court. he will just have to decide the best combo of personnel

If you're talking playoffs, Spurs will go 10 deep at minimum.

You can't keep any of these guys off the floor throughout the playoffs the way they are playing:

Duncan
Manu
Tony
Kawhi
Diaw
Danny Green
Bonner
Splitter
Jackson (mostly for defense)
Neal (paired with Ginobili, taking turns creating on O)


Mills and Blair could get situational spot duty depending on the circumstances.

Joseph and Anderson will ride the pine all playoffs unless the game is a 20+ point blowout in the 4th quarter.

Blair is absolutely one of those situational type players. And I love Mills--dude can flat out score, and could prove even more valuable if one of the other wings goes down with an injury (knocking on all kinds of wood over here).

I could see using Mills a lot during a game if Tony is ineffective on the pick and roll and if our outside shooters are struggling.

He could also be a good situational guy to put in the 1/2 spot if they need a 3 to tie.

Mills, Manu, Danny Green, Bonner, Diaw is a nice 3 point shooting lineup.


Blair struggles against teams the Spurs will see in the 1st 2 rounds with a big front court. I doubt we see a lot of him this playoffs. Diaw has come on way too strong. The only possible teams I could see Blair playing against in the playoffs are the Thunder and the Heat / Celtics. He is too small to use more than sparingly against LAL, LAC, MEM, or UTA.

Crap. Totally forgot Neal. Wow.

I'm not sure he will get a ton of minutes, but he will definitely get some time with the 2nd unit to come in and score. Hopefully his shoulder / neck is okay.

If he's not injured, he'll get tony's backup minutes like he's been getting all season, sharing the role with Manu. Mills will definitely be third string unless he's used for situational purposes as mentioned before.

Yeah as long as Neal is healthy he will get the majority of the backup PG minutes with Manu. Mills will probably not see the court unless someone is really struggling.

Spurs rotation should be 10 deep

Tony/Neal
Green/Manu
Leonard/Jack
Diaw/Bonner
Duncan/Splitter.

This is what I hope they do.

That comparison is terrible. The 2007 Mavs were a ****ing great team that had the horrible misfortune of playing a team that 1) was perfectly designed to beat them and 2) led by Dallas' former coach who was sporting a Titanic-sized chip on his shoulder.

The '07 Mavs would literally have flattened any other team in the playoff besides the Spurs (that would have been another epic series that left fans of both teams with ulcers.

Nobody in the West matches up against the Spurs like that. Sure we're weak against dominant big men, but the combo of improved help defense (since last year) and Diaw+improved Splitter+improved Bonner means we're serviceable there (ranked 10-12 in post D according to that SI article that was floating around a couple weeks ago).

Plus, we're deeper and have no injuries.
