Right. Which is the proper thing for any player to say. No player would ever say something contrary to that. It doesn't mean anything.

Did you understand that Simpleton?

The coachspeak answer would be....we are not really interested in our positioning. We are more interested in getting guys healthy and playing our game. If the we drop in the rankings as a result, so be it.

Clippers are vastly overrated/hyped.

Gordon was a huge key to their offense. And i think Vinny might be the single worst coach in the league

i don't understand how you can be ecstatic to possibly see the Clippers.

Preseason polls had clips as a favorite to win the west. They didnt even win the division. But match up wwll against the spurs. Paul is better than Parker. The Spurs best weapon.

Next.

Vastly overrated, yet the top team in the league should be scared.

When you are the spurs and gave the 8th seed their first franchise playoff series win ever last year.....yep.

Lucky that Billups - the man you called a cancer for the team - went down? The guy that was hitting 36% of his shots before he got injured and has failed to top 44% since 2008? That Guy?

Randy Foye anf Nick Young have been awful for the clips this year havent they? Bet they wish Billups was getting those minutes.

Oh.

Spurs fan holding onto the play of an older player who looks nothing now like what they used to?

Did NOT see that coming.

You were the one that said the Spurs should be happy that Billups went down.

I pointed out that Billups sucked ass and they are better off without him.

Try to keep up. I know it is difficult.

ah i see, so you're back in 2008 Soupy Sales mode of convolute both sides of the argument, without actually making any predictions and misinterpreting/lying about statements that are actually out there.

and then flat out just choosing to simply to not believe something "Lamar Odom said this, literally, but he actually didn't meant it."

Try keep up:

Preseason talk was that the Clippers were favorites to come out of the West. Pundits, polls, articles, expectations. Etc.

Clippers were vastly overrated. and they finished the season as either the 4, or 5 seed.

Billups was a cancer. Clippers fans hated him. Hell go look at what Simmons wrote about him. And I'm sure things would've been fine had Mr Big Shot been taking and missing those shots at the end of games instead of CP3.

If the Spurs had any advantage with Billups going down, it's that Parker would've had an easier time running all over Mo Williams or Eric Bledsoe.

But now the Clippers got a steal for Nick Young, which has also allowed them to change their lineups and now Foye is playing excellent.

As such, the Clippers with Nick Young + Randy Foye, are going to be a tougher time for the Spurs than they would've been with Eric Bledsoe and Mo Williams

As someone who pretends to know more than he does without actually ever offering an opinion that ends up coming to fruition...

tell me how Blake Griffin is an MVP candidate. sadly, it wouldn't even be the stupidest thing you've ever said.

The team’s unexpected charge to the top seed in the Western Conference has some bookmakers seriously sweating out the potential of a Spurs NBA title this year, according to USA Today.

Some oddsmakers had the Spurs listed as a 30-to-1 choice before the season at winning an NBA title.

“They weren’t considered to be major contenders coming into the year but they just kept winning all season,” Greg Sindall, an oddsmaker for SportsInteraction.com told Covers.com. “Some people must be feeling pretty good going into the playoffs with a futures bet on a team that is over .700 (winning percentage) at 30-1.”

The Spurs, who are now 5½-to-1 to win the NBA Championship, are among a handful of teams that pose a threat to sports books this postseason.

Let 'em sweat!

Anybody else wondering what Denver is thinking in all of this? If they lose to OKC tonight then Denver can lose to Minnesota on purpose to draw us first round.. Not sure if this is something they would look into (Memphis did it last year) but it's certainly not for sure that Utah will be the first round opponent yet.

Artest will be out for the first round so Denver might prefer to play the Lakers. I'm not sure what they'd like tbh.

i doubt denver is looking forward to either of the teams they will end up drawing. i can't see them wanted to play SA. at least OKC would allow them to run the score up. i would imagine they would rather play that kind of game.

Dallas needs to beat Atlanta to be able to get the 6 spot. Atlanta is still playing for home court as well so that's going to be a tough game for them on the road. Dallas can't fall to 8 though no matter what. Denver can finish 6,7 or 8 while Utah can finish either 7 or 8.

Isn't this your whole schtick? I'll provide an example from the EXACT SAME POST

So if the Clippers win, your reponse = "told you so". If they lose, you never made an actual prediction, so you're covered. Truth be told, all you've done here is present an untestable hypothesis as truth, one which can be supported by circumstantial data but not rejected by anything.

In fact, you did the same thing earlier in the thread when you suggested Al Jefferson is this year's ZBo. Now, if Utah pulls off the upset, you can use all the little snippets you've thrown out there like that as evidence that you knew what was coming, when in fact you avoid making an actual prediction at all costs.
Simplebay

Mass get it right. Soupy makes zero predictions, makes up falsities on both sides, distorts actual facts or ignores them completely to puff his chest up, then claims to somehow be right in the end without actually saying a single correct thing.

I say hyperbole and conjecture leading to quantifiable predictions on both sides of the argument, all the while mixing facts with trolls. Then when the results pan out, I wade through the hyperbole and pick out the end result i mentioned that ends up taking place.

This is incorrect actually. What I said was i'm hearing a lot of commentary saying he could be. The thing I just listened to was Alex Kennedy talking about how Jefferson is in prime condition, hungry for a legit shot at the playoffs with a young and hungry team, with a very passionate home court crowd. He was drawing comparisons to Jefferson and ZBo last year.

I didn't say I thought it would happen. as is evident by I actually legitimately think the Spurs will win in 5 games.

So you heard some *****bag talking head speaking about the similarities between Zbo and Jefferson (Really, you couldn't have figured out for yourself that they have similar games????) and you thought you'd inform us Spurs fans so that those of us that are aware of what happened in the paint last year can become scared or something?

Jefferson looks and plays like ZBo. I expect him to have some success against the Spurs in the playoffs. That said, you should know from the double curb-stomp the Spurs put on the lakers last week that the 2012 Spurs are different animal.
