Has any team this season won 5 games in a row by 20+?

Jackson seems to be out of his shooting slump

Last 4:
4-8 (0-2 3pt) for 8 points
4-9 (2-5 3pt) for 13 points
1-3 (0-1 3pt) for 4 points. Not good, but he didn't take a lot of shots
5-7 (2-2 3pt) for 16 points tonight

This is exactly what we need him to do. Play good D and hit 40+% on 6-8 attempts/game

finally figured out where i've seen this spurs team before.

The 2006-2007 Dallas Mavericks. Perfect regular season team. Finished 67-15, first place, and then the playoffs rolled around.

Can't wait for this postseason

Right, cause we match up terribly with Jazz/Suns/Nugggets.

Try harder Simple.

Good decision by Blair to hold that up.

You haven't seen a team like this before tard, so don't compare them to another one.

Simple dooosh strikes again. What a awesome observation! Please tell me more how the spurs are like the 2006-2007 Mavs?

Can't wait until to hear your excuses win the Lakers flame out in the playoffs...somehow I feel like you'll be here, on a SPURS thread. Beetching and moaning.

Not the sharpest knife in the drawer, are we, simple?

It honestly would make more sense if you compared last years Spurs team to the 06-07 Mavs who flamed out against Golden State.

If the Spurs win tonight and I were Pop, this is the crew I would take to PHX and GSW:

Joseph
Mills
James Anderson
S Jax
Blair
Gary Neal

Everyone else I'd leave at home to practice and rest up for Saturday. Wouldn't even risk injury to guys like Splitter, Leonard, or Green who you need to go deep in the playoffs.

It'd be nice to keep home court over Miami.

Yeah, except worrying about something that far in the future is what cost the Spurs the early exit last year.

Will pop trim his rotation down to 7-8 or will he go 10-11 deep?

Tim Duncan
Tony Parker
Manu Ginobili
Kawhi Leonard
Matt Bonner
Daniel Green
DeJuan Blair
Gary Neal
Tiago Splitter
Stephen Jackson
Boris Diaw
Patrick Mills

I'm guessing it will be a series to series move based on who matches up best, even so it could easily go 9 deep.

Of course he hasn't guessed wrong since february 1. At the end of Jan we were at 13-9, since feb 1 he's had them playing 34-7 (82.9%) ball.

That's pretty much the opposite of last year, started 49-10 through feb and limped in to the playoffs going 12-11 march and april.

I think I'm finally getting my hopes up for what this team can do

I think he goes with a 10 man rotation with Blair and Mills getting the short end of the stick.

The biggest question to me is are they going to be able to control the tempo like they have in the regular season. When the game is moving at a faster pace the depth of this team will simply wear down every other squad out there. Traditionally, the game slows down. But I think that happens because defense are able to really gameplan and lock down in a series, plus most teams look to shorten the bench. A team that can keep a long bench and still get it done defensively will be tough to beat.

The Spurs ought to just continue doing what they are currently doing. Multiple wholesale substitutions, as long as one or the other of Ginobili or Parker are out there to direct the offense. They literally have 12 guys who can play through the system, and do it well. I hate to say it but even ol' Matty Bonner has impressed me as of late.

The media has jumped on this storyline of the Spurs transition from a defensive-minded to offensive-minded team. That's all well and good, but what they've missed in the process, and the difference really between this year and last, is that the defense is actually pretty damn good. In terms of getting into passing lanes and forcing turnovers, I'd put the Spurs nearly on par with Chicago and Miami over the last month or two. The development of Leonard has a lot to do with that, but the help down low and the defensive movement in general has been very, very good for the Spurs. They are a much better defensive team than the talking heads are giving them credit for.

I think we'll see a 9-10 man rotation that may change from series to series based on matchups. At least one of Parker and Manu will be on the floor at all times. Blair and Mills will probably not get a lot of pt unless there are blowouts.

I actually think you'll see Blair a lot against smaller teams. For instance, it wouldn't surprise me if Blair got the start in the 1st round if the Jazz end up being the opponent.

Manu is almost at old as Tim. Manu needs to play, because he has missed so much, but his minutes need to be small. Tony is the most important player on the team. I'm not sure you play him after tonight.
Ulrich
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Parker might get a few minutes to stay sharp, and Manu might get a few minutes because he missed so much of the regular season. If they play, they still won't play much.

I wonder if Duncan will get any more minutes this regular season. I kind of doubt it.
Ulrich
How long do you want to ignore this user?
he might get about 15 minutes in one game, but I'll be surprised at more than that. If he doesn't play, he'll have 7 days off before the playoffs start, which is too much to stay sharp.
